Backend Engineer for Security & Performance Review

We are looking for an experienced backend or full-stack engineer to audit and remediate the backend of an existing Next.js application. This engagement includes both identifying potential issues and implementing the necessary fixes. Our stack includes Next.js/TypeScript, Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, Resend, Clerk, and the Anthropic API. The application is functional and deployed, but has been developed extensively with AI-assisted coding. We are seeking an experienced engineer to validate the implementation and ensure it is secure, performant, and production-ready. The scope includes: - Reviewing backend architecture, API routes, and database access - Identifying and fixing security vulnerabilities - Reviewing authentication, authorization, and Supabase RLS policies - Validating Stripe, Resend, and Anthropic API integrations - Identifying and resolving latency, inefficient queries, and unnecessary API calls - Reviewing error handling, secrets management, and rate limiting - Testing fixes and verifying that existing functionality is preserved We are looking for someone with strong Next.js/TypeScript backend experience and experience securing production web applications, including authentication, database access, payments, and third-party API integrations. Familiarity with Supabase, Clerk, and Stripe is strongly preferred.
