Backend Middleware and GoHighLevel API Developer

We are building a production-ready middleware system that connects GoHighLevel CRM with a custom business automation workflow. This role is focused on backend development, GoHighLevel API integration, webhooks, event processing, database structure, logging, security, and deployment readiness. The goal is to build a reliable backend that can receive CRM events, prevent duplicate processing, run business logic, and update GoHighLevel safely. This is not a frontend design role or a basic chatbot project. Responsibilities Build the backend middleware using Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, or a similar backend stack. Create secure GoHighLevel webhook endpoints. Receive, validate, normalize, and store webhook events. Prevent duplicate event processing with idempotency logic. Integrate GoHighLevel APIs for contacts, opportunities, tags, custom fields, and pipeline updates. Add retry handling, error handling, logging, and audit trails. Set up rate limiting and basic API protection. Design a clean database structure for events, contacts, API logs, failed jobs, and decision records. Prepare the backend for PostgreSQL, Redis, queues, and production deployment. Write clear documentation for setup, testing, and handover. Skills Backend development with Node.js and TypeScript. Experience with NestJS, Express, Fastify, or similar backend frameworks. GoHighLevel API or similar CRM API integration experience. Webhook handling and third-party API integrations. PostgreSQL or similar relational databases. Redis, queues, retry logic, or background job processing. Idempotency, duplicate prevention, and reliable event processing. API security, environment variables, secrets, and rate limiting. Structured logging and error handling. Git and GitHub workflow. Workflow - Shortlisted candidates will review the current frontend page and share brief feedback or improvement ideas by video, screenshot. - We’ll review everything carefully and will have a short interview for selected candidates. - Work will continue through clear milestones or hourly rate.
