Landscape Architect / Outdoor Living Designer Needed – Design a Year-Round Family Backyard I’m looking for an experienced landscape architect or outdoor living designer to create a comprehensive master plan for our backyard . I’ll provide: * Photos of the existing backyard from multiple angles * A site/plat map showing property boundaries * A rough vision for where we’d like key structures located * Inspiration photos of outdoor spaces we like Project Goals We want to transform our backyard into a beautiful, functional space that is ideal for both family life and entertaining throughout all four seasons. Some ideas we already have include: * A sauna in the northwest corner of the property * A ~1,200 sq. ft. detached outbuilding (guest house / recreation space / gym) * Outdoor dining and barbecue area * Comfortable gathering spaces around a fire feature * Shade structures (pergola, pavilion, or similar) * Landscape lighting * Pathways and circulation * Privacy landscaping * Outdoor heating solutions for winter entertaining * Areas for kids to play while still feeling like an elegant outdoor space * Storage if appropriate What I’m Looking For I’m not looking for someone to simply place the items I’ve listed. I’m looking for someone with strong design instincts who can think holistically and recommend ideas I haven’t considered. I want a backyard that feels cohesive, timeless, and highly functional. Please challenge my assumptions and suggest better layouts, amenities, and design concepts based on your experience. Deliverables I’d like the final deliverables to include: * Overall site master plan * Conceptual layout showing structures and activity zones * Planting recommendations * Hardscape recommendations * Outdoor lighting recommendations * Material suggestions * Optional inspiration images or mood boards * 2D plans (3D renderings are a plus but not required) * A phased implementation plan if appropriate Ideal Experience Please include: * Examples of outdoor living or residential landscape projects you’ve designed * Experience with mountain climates or four-season outdoor spaces * Any experience designing around saunas, guest houses, outdoor kitchens, or similar amenities I’m looking for someone who enjoys creating exceptional outdoor environments—not just producing drawings. If you’ve designed spaces where people naturally gather, entertain, and spend time year-round, I’d love to see your work. I will want to see 2 or 3 scenarios to choose from
