Band logo for 80's-inspired rock band, no AI!

We are Ricky Shindig, a melodic hard rock band from Germany. For our second album we're looking for someone to rework our current logo. The new logo should look like an evolved, more mature “2.0 version” of the current one, as it unfortunately lacks a bit of professionalism and impact. The font can definitely change, but it should still feel familiar. We play catchy hard rock with a subtle 80s touch - big hooks, riffs & good vibes. “Ricky Shindig” is a play on words combining “Rikishi,” a Japanese term for a sumo wrestler, and “Shindig.” This reflects our origin story, which began in a Japanese restaurant called “Sumo”. We also have a band mascot - our rock’n’roll sumo wrestler. We are considering two logo versions: - Wordmark only A strong, recognizable logo that works on its own. - Extended logo version The second version could incorporate the logo into a Japanese torii, with the silhouette of our rock 'n' roll sumo wrestler as a sign on the toori (for festival posters etc.). We played around with some AI-generated concepts, but we're not completely happy with the results. They feel a bit too goofy and don't really capture the classic '80s hard rock aesthetic we're aiming for. I'm attaching everything for reference: our old logo, as well as the AI concepts featuring the torii and the sumo wrestler. Maybe they'll give you some inspiration—we're really excited to see what ideas you come up with. General Notes: - We need the following files: .AI; .SVG; .PNG - The logo should also work as a single-color (white) version for use on posters. It can still include details and textures that can be adapted to different colors later if needed. - The font should not feel particularly Japanese. We are looking for a classic, powerful ’80s hard rock style instead. - No use of AI please. We just used it to visualize our idea.
