Banger reels EDITOR needed for mini movies (remote + room to grow)

Summary

Looking for my right-hand editor. A short-form partner to grow with. NOT a one-off gig. A long-term partner. I wrote, produced, edited, and starred in HBO Max’s My Dead Dad, and I’m directing my next feature this year. But simultaneously, I’m building an online universe of what I call “mini movies.” Not your typical clips or TikTok dancing, but real stories and vignettes, shot well. The honest version: right now, it’s just me. I’m an expert editor myself. 20 years deep (I am a vampire). I just can’t keep up with the volume I need to hit 10x growth. I’m looking for the person who becomes the founding editor of this universe. Eventually, there’s room to grow into Head of Post-Production and direct other editors as we scale. But that’s the future plans. What’s the job NOW? The work has two lanes: -High-volume brand deal work. Clean, fast, on-brand. This keeps the machine moving. -High-concept signature edits for my personal brand. Scroll-stopping showpieces that land the brand deals… the “creative.” For lack of better words, I’m talking sicko mode editing you don’t normally see on social media. Example for high-concept reels: mostly on the gram… look me up: pedrocorrea.mov Most edits are 35 to 60 seconds, plus roughly one 60 to 90 second “mini movie” per month. I’d call it a short, but the goal is for people to actually see and share these. The more we make, the more brand-integrated retainers we can land, and the more we can scale. The style: –Internet-coded “cooked” meets kino. Think the edit pacing of HBO’s “The Neighbors” meets the less socially awkward “The Rehearsal”... if they were on caffeine. –Kinetic pacing, hooks, re-hooks, fast cuts, open loops, punchy single-word captions, and heavy sound design. Film-quality cuts with the punch of the best edits on Instagram… The latter is where traditional editors go to die. What matters most: –Reliability and turnaround. I have the quality. I’m looking to match it with volume. –You actually understand retention. Not just fancy “film editing.” This is mandatory. You need to understand short-form structure otherwise these will not perform at all. –Taste. You can watch something and know exactly why it works or doesn’t on social media. –You want a real partnership. Eventually, I want you involved in scripts before we even shoot, so the edit is baked in from frame one and you end up with the perfect ingredients. At minimum, I need someone who can become a seamless extension of my existing style. I can provide a detailed style SOP, caption styles, SFX assets, etc. Ideally, you also bring a fresh voice and push it even further. The grand plan: –Stage 1: Paid per Reel to start. Rates will vary with complexity, but let’s talk on that front –Stage 2: Move to a monthly retainer as volume ramps. Elephant in the room: Would I take the rate I’m currently offering? No. I’m early and self-funded, so I won’t pretend this is a big-budget shop on day one. But this is the self-funding stage I’m investing to hack into the big leagues. For now? It’s you and me, baby. The draw is the craft, the creative partnership, and growing the work together (along with the rate eventually… the more value you provide, the more dollars I can offer, simple as that). If you see the vision, dope. If you don’t, all Gucci, my friend. To apply: 1. Start your message with “YO” so I know you read this. 2. Send 2 - 3 Reels you cut that come closest to the energy of my work. Please watch a couple of my Instagram videos first. It’s pretty specific. 3. In a line or two, tell me why you’re a good candidate. Have you worked in short-form? Do you understand short-form scripting and retention? 4. Bonus: Tell me one thing you’d change about one of my recent videos. Compensation: We’ll start with 1 to 2 paid trial edits at $100 per Reel. If it’s a fit, the initial package will be approximately 7 Reels per month for $700, with the goal of increasing both volume and compensation as we grow (that could happen very quick). Eventually, I would like to aim to be doing 12 reels/mo, even up to 24 reels/mo long-term.
