Summary

I need a U.S. based business law attorney to write and send a demand letter to a client that refuses to pay for my company's services. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal consulting, research, and writing, with a focus on corporate law. The task involves drafting a professional letter that clearly states the payment dispute and legal actions that may follow if unresolved. Then I need the attorney to mail the letter to my client and also send an email to my client (cc me). Attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential. Here's a draft of the letter I'd like you to send (which I encourage you to edit... but it'll save you time as this is a good start.) [LAW FIRM LETTERHEAD] June 26, 2026 VIA EMAIL AND CERTIFIED MAIL Timothy Schwarz elevateED [mail address] [email address] Re: Formal Demand for Payment Under Independent Contractor Agreement Dear Mr. Schwarz: This firm represents The Coach’s CMO, LLC regarding the Independent Contractor Agreement between The Coach’s CMO, LLC and elevateED. This letter serves as formal demand for payment of the outstanding $4,000 balance due under the Independent Contractor Agreement entered into by elevatED and The Coach’s CMO, LLC. The parties entered into a written Independent Contractor Agreement dated March 19, 2026. The Agreement provides for a minimum three-month engagement period and a monthly retainer of $4,000. Schedule A further provides that invoices are due upon receipt. elevatED made the first monthly retainer payment of $4,000 on or about March 20, 2026, and the second monthly retainer payment of $4,000 on or about May 7, 2026. The third and final monthly retainer payment of $4,000 remains unpaid. We understand that you have expressed dissatisfaction with certain aspects of the engagement and have requested that The Coach’s CMO waive the third monthly retainer payment. The Coach’s CMO does not agree to waive that payment. Dissatisfaction with aspects of the engagement does not excuse elevatED from the payment obligations established by the parties’ signed Agreement. During the engagement, The Coach’s CMO provided marketing strategy, consulting, deliverables, revisions, and support, including additional revised materials following the parties’ June 5, 2026 discussion. The Coach’s CMO also remained available and prepared to continue providing services through the remainder of the agreed engagement period. Despite prior written requests for payment, the outstanding $4,000 balance remains unpaid. Accordingly, demand is hereby made that elevatED pay the outstanding $4,000 balance in full no later than 5:00 PM Pacific Time on July 3, 2026. Payment may be made by ACH/wire using the instructions previously provided on the invoice, or by credit card/PayPal using the payment link previously provided. If payment is not received by the deadline stated above, The Coach’s CMO intends to pursue all remedies available under the Agreement and applicable law, including binding arbitration pursuant to Section 12 of the Agreement, which provides that disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration in San Diego, California. Nothing in this letter shall be construed as a waiver of any rights, claims, remedies, or arguments available to The Coach’s CMO, LLC, all of which are expressly reserved. This matter can still be resolved promptly and professionally through payment of the outstanding balance. Sincerely, [Attorney Name] [Law Firm Name] Counsel for The Coach’s CMO, LLC
