Facebook & Instagram Community Engagement Specialist We are looking for a U.S.-based freelancers to help with organic community engagement, social listening, conversation discovery and brand awareness for a growing U.S. shipping technology company. This is NOT a traditional social media content creation role. We are not looking for someone whose main experience is creating Canva graphics, scheduling posts or managing content calendars. We are looking for someone who genuinely understands how people communicate on Facebook and Instagram and knows how to find and participate in relevant online conversations naturally. What You'll Be Doing Facebook Research and join relevant Facebook Groups related to: Small business Ecommerce Etsy sellers eBay sellers Shopify stores Online sellers D2C businesses Makers and crafters Shipping and logistics Find relevant conversations around topics such as: Expensive shipping USPS and UPS rates Shipping price increases Pirate Ship ShipStation Shippo Shipping labels Cheapest ways to ship Ecommerce shipping Small-business shipping problems Identify discussions where our company can genuinely provide value. Participate naturally in relevant conversations. Answer questions and provide helpful information without spamming groups. Mention our platform when genuinely relevant and appropriate. Follow all individual Facebook Group rules. Monitor competitor discussions and common customer problems. Instagram Find relevant ecommerce businesses, sellers, creators and niche accounts. Engage with relevant posts and conversations. Identify potential users and businesses. Participate in comments naturally. Research competitor audiences and industry conversations. Help identify opportunities for genuine outreach. Assist with relevant Instagram DMs when appropriate. Social Listening & Lead Discovery You will also maintain a simple tracker containing: Platform Facebook Group / Instagram Account Conversation URL Date Topic Customer pain point Competitor mentioned Engagement performed Potential lead Follow-up opportunity Status The goal is not simply to generate likes or followers. The goal is to find real conversations where potential customers are already discussing problems our product can solve. Requirements You must: Currently live in the United States Have strong written and conversational English Understand Facebook Groups and Instagram engagement Have experience with organic social media/community engagement Be comfortable doing daily research and social listening Understand how to communicate naturally without sounding like a salesperson Be capable of identifying buying intent from conversations Be organized and comfortable tracking your work Understand the difference between genuine community participation and spam Experience with any of the following is a strong advantage: Ecommerce Shopify Etsy eBay D2C brands Small-business marketing SaaS Shipping/logistics Community-led growth Social listening Organic lead generation Important: Authentic Social Profiles For Facebook community participation, we are specifically looking for someone comfortable using their own authentic Facebook identity/profile where appropriate. We are NOT looking for fake, purchased, rented, shared or artificially created Facebook accounts. You must not pretend to be a customer or make fake testimonials/recommendations. When your relationship with the company is relevant to a discussion or recommendation, it should be disclosed appropriately. We will never ask you to share your Facebook or Instagram password with us. What Success Looks Like We care more about: Relevant conversations discovered High-intent discussions identified Quality of engagement Potential customers discovered Genuine interactions created Useful competitor/customer intelligence Traffic and signups generated from community activity We care much less about vanity metrics such as likes or follower counts. Working Arrangement Remote Part-time Approximately 8 hours per week initially Long-term opportunity if the initial engagement works well When Applying Please answer the screening questions carefully.
