Basic Video Editor — Rough Cut Cleanup (Ongoing, Flexible Hours)

I run a personal brand channel (YouTube + TikTok), and I'm looking for a reliable basic editor to do first-pass cleanup on my footage before it goes to my main editor for graphics and polish. What this role is NOT: This isn't a creative editing role. No color grading, no motion graphics, no music, no effects. My main editor handles all of that. Your job is to hand them a clean timeline. What you'll actually do: - Trim out mistakes, flubbed lines, long pauses, and dead air. I record with a teleprompter, so when I stumble, I just restart the line. - Simple rule for re-takes: when I repeat a line, KEEP THE LAST TAKE and cut everything before it. The final pass is always the one to keep. No guesswork needed. - Tighten the pacing so the cut flows without awkward gaps. - Deliver the cleaned-up project file ready for my main editor to open and continue working in. The work: - Long-form: ~3–5 videos per week. Raw footage is around 20 minutes; cleaned cut should land near 10. - Short-form: potentially dozens per week. Volume will vary. - This is a new, ongoing project. Workload will fluctuate week to week, so I need someone flexible who can scale up and down with me.
