# Upwork Job Post ## Title Bilingual Editorial Designer Needed to Translate & Rebrand 29-Page Mortgage Homebuyer Guide ## Job Description I need an experienced bilingual editorial designer / desktop publishing specialist to create two alternate versions of an existing 29-page first-time homebuyer guide. This is not a basic translation job and not a simple logo swap. The guide is a professionally formatted mortgage marketing PDF with branded headers, footers, tables, checklists, callout boxes, diagrams, NMLS references, website links, disclosures, and mortgage-specific language. I am looking for someone who can handle the full project carefully and deliver polished, final-ready files without a lot of back-and-forth revisions. ## Project Scope I need two completed versions: ### Version 1: Spanish Homebuyer Guide Create a Spanish version of the existing guide. The Spanish version must be localized for U.S. Hispanic homebuyers, especially Mexican-American readers in the Southwest United States. Do not use Spain Spanish, overly formal academic Spanish, or literal machine-style translation. The language should feel natural, clear, warm, and easy to understand for first-time homebuyers living in the United States. Requirements: * Translate/localize the full guide into natural, professional Spanish. * The Spanish should feel appropriate for U.S. Hispanic / Mexican-American homebuyers, not overly formal Spain Spanish and not machine-translated. * Mortgage terminology must be accurate and easy for a first-time buyer to understand. * Preserve the same overall layout, design quality, readability, and professional tone. * Adjust spacing and formatting where Spanish text expands. * Proofread the final Spanish version before delivery. ### Version 2: Mountain Country Mortgage Rebrand Create an English version rebranded from Lender Express to Mountain Country Mortgage. Requirements: * Replace Lender Express branding with Mountain Country Mortgage branding throughout. * Update logo, colors, footer, contact information, website references, company references, CTA language, and any branded sections. * Review every page to make sure all Lender Express references are either removed, replaced, or intentionally left only if instructed. * Maintain a professional mortgage guide design that feels fully branded to Mountain Country Mortgage, not like a quick logo swap. ## Important Details The existing guide includes: * Cover page * Introduction * Table of contents * 12 homebuyer steps * Tables and comparison charts * Checklist-style sections * Mortgage process diagrams * Callout boxes * NMLS and educational-purpose disclosures * Final CTA page Accuracy matters. Mortgage, real estate, and financial terms need to be handled carefully. The final product should look like a polished guide from a professional mortgage company. ## Ideal Freelancer I am looking for someone with experience in: * Editorial design * Desktop publishing / DTP * Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, or equivalent professional layout tools * Multi-page brochures, guides, eBooks, or lead magnets * Spanish translation/localization * Mortgage, real estate, financial services, or compliance-sensitive marketing materials * Rebranding existing marketing collateral * Preparing both print-ready and web-optimized PDFs A strong fit would be a senior designer, bilingual DTP specialist, or small agency that can handle both design and Spanish localization. ## Please Do Not Apply If Please do not apply if you only do basic translation, simple Canva edits, social media graphics, or basic PDF editing. This project requires careful layout work, accurate Spanish localization, brand consistency, and detailed quality control across a 29-page guide. ## Deliverables Please include the following final deliverables: 1. Spanish version of the guide as a polished PDF 2. Mountain Country Mortgage branded English version as a polished PDF 3. Web-optimized PDF versions 4. Print-ready PDF versions 5. Editable source files 6. Packaged fonts, images, and design assets where applicable 7. Final QA checklist confirming: * All pages reviewed * All branding updated correctly * All links/contact information updated * All NMLS/disclosure sections reviewed * Spanish version proofread * Layout checked after translation ## Preferred Workflow To avoid unnecessary revisions, I would like to work in milestones: ### Milestone 1: Sample Pages Create 2–3 sample pages first so I can approve the translation style, layout handling, and rebrand direction before the full guide is completed. ### Milestone 2: Full Drafts Complete both full versions of the guide. ### Milestone 3: Final QA and Delivery Complete final proofreading, quality control, PDF exports, and delivery of all source files. ## What I Will Provide I will provide: * The existing PDF guide * Mountain Country Mortgage logo and brand assets * Contact information * Website links * NMLS/disclosure information to use * Any required brand colors or style preferences ## What I Need From You In your proposal, please include: 1. Examples of multi-page guides, brochures, eBooks, or PDFs you have designed 2. Examples of Spanish translation/localization work, if available 3. Whether you are a native or fluent Spanish speaker 4. Whether you have experience with U.S. mortgage, real estate, or financial services content 5. What software you will use 6. Confirmation that you can provide editable source files 7. Your estimated turnaround time 8. Your recommended process for minimizing revisions and catching errors before final delivery ## Screening Question Please answer this question in your proposal: “This project requires more than translation and more than a logo swap. What specific steps will you take to make sure the Spanish version reads naturally, the Mountain Country Mortgage version is fully rebranded, and the final PDFs are accurate before delivery?” ## Goal I want this done right the first time. I am looking for a detail-oriented professional who can take ownership of the project, think through the details, and deliver final-ready work with minimal revision requests.
