Blockchain Protocol Engineer – Decentralized E-commerce Platform & Native Token

We're building a decentralized e-commerce platform and looking for someone who enjoys solving difficult system design problems. The goal isn't to build another marketplace with a token attached to it. The goal is to create a marketplace where buyers, sellers, and the platform itself are aligned through incentives rather than extracted from by intermediaries. That's where blockchain comes in. We're using it for payments, rewards, staking, governance, and settlement. Not because it's trendy, but because those are the parts where decentralization can actually improve the product. Alongside the platform, we're building a native token that sits at the center of the ecosystem. The challenge is designing something that creates value through platform activity. We're currently at the PoC stage. The architecture is still evolving, which means many of the important decisions are still ahead of us. Why We're Hiring We've reached the point where we need someone who can look beyond individual smart contracts and think about the system as a whole. Questions we're actively working through include: - How should incentives be structured between buyers and sellers? - What belongs on-chain and what doesn't? - How should rewards be distributed without creating abuse? - How should staking create real value instead of artificial yield? - How do we keep governance useful without making it burdensome? - How do we scale without introducing unnecessary complexity? We're looking for someone who enjoys solving these kinds of problems. What You'll Do - Help design the economic and technical foundations of the platform - Work on token utility, incentives, rewards, and staking mechanisms - Design and review protocol-level smart contract architecture - Evaluate trade-offs between security, scalability, and user experience - Collaborate closely with product, backend, frontend, and blockchain teams - Help establish long-term protocol and ecosystem strategy This role is part architecture, part engineering, and part systems thinking. What We're Looking For - Experience building production blockchain systems - Strong understanding of protocol design, token economics, and incentive mechanisms - Solidity and EVM ecosystem experience - Ability to think critically about trade-offs and unintended consequences - Comfortable working in an early-stage environment where not everything is defined yet Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can challenge ideas, not just implement them.
