Blockchain Protocol Engineer for Decentralized E-commerce and Native Token
Worldwide
About the Project We're building a decentralized e-commerce platform that aims to solve some very old problems in online commerce. Today, marketplaces sit in the middle of every transaction. Sellers pay high fees. Buyers have little visibility into how things work. Platforms capture most of the value while users do most of the work. We're taking a different approach. The platform allows buyers and sellers to interact directly, with blockchain handling payments, incentives, settlement, and governance. The goal isn't to force everything on-chain. The goal is to use blockchain where it creates clear advantages and keep everything else practical. Alongside the platform, we're building a native token that supports payments, rewards, staking, and governance. The token is tied to platform activity and growth rather than existing as a standalone crypto product. We're currently at the PoC stage and looking for someone who can help build the protocol layer properly from the beginning. The Role We're looking for a Blockchain Protocol Engineer who enjoys thinking about systems, not just contracts. You'll be involved in designing and implementing the core protocol logic that powers the platform and token ecosystem. This includes smart contracts, staking mechanisms, reward distribution, governance logic, and the interaction between on-chain and off-chain components. A big part of the role is helping us make good decisions early. What You'll Be Working On - Designing protocol and smart contract architecture - Building token-related mechanisms such as rewards, staking, and governance - Defining how platform activity interacts with on-chain systems - Improving scalability, efficiency, and transaction costs - Reviewing security assumptions and identifying potential attack vectors - Working closely with frontend and backend engineers to ensure the protocol fits the product What We're Looking For - Strong experience with Solidity and EVM-based ecosystems - Experience building production smart contracts or protocol-level systems - Understanding of token economics, staking models, and incentive design - Good knowledge of security best practices and common smart contract vulnerabilities - Ability to think through trade-offs rather than chase trends - Comfortable working in an early-stage environment where requirements evolve Why Join This isn't a role where you'll be maintaining someone else's protocol. You'll be helping define it. We're still early enough that the right technical decisions can have a major impact on the product. If you enjoy building systems from first principles and want to work on a product with a real use case beyond speculation, we'd love to talk.
