Board Game and Rule Book Assistance

Graphic Designer Needed for Family Board Game (Affinity Designer / Adobe Illustrator / AI Experience) We are looking for a talented graphic designer to help refine and complete the artwork for an educational family board game. The game board has already been designed, and we are looking for someone with a strong eye for composition, color, typography, and print-ready production to help bring it to a professional publishing standard. This is a collaborative project rather than creating a game board from scratch. In addition to the game board, we will also need assistance designing the rulebook. The overall visual identity—including the color palette and typography—has already been established. We are looking for someone who can create a clean, engaging, professionally designed rulebook that is easy to read and consistent with the game's branding. Required Skills Proficiency in Affinity Designer and/or Adobe Illustrator (Adobe Creative Suite experience is welcome). Experience preparing artwork for professional printing. Strong graphic design and layout skills. Familiarity with AI-generated artwork and the ability to work with, enhance, and integrate AI-created images into a cohesive final design. Experience designing books, manuals, or rulebooks is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to make thoughtful design recommendations. What You'll Be Working On Refining an existing game board. Improving layout, spacing, and visual balance. Enhancing typography and graphic elements. Designing a polished, visually engaging rulebook using our established colors and typography. Preparing final files for commercial printing. Collaborating with us as we make creative decisions together. Confidentiality Because this is an original intellectual property, the selected freelancer must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before any project materials are shared. The NDA will include the following: All artwork, concepts, files, and discussions are confidential. No project materials may be shared publicly. The work may not be displayed in portfolios, websites, social media, marketing materials, or other promotional examples. The freelancer may state on a résumé or LinkedIn profile that they assisted in the graphic design of a commercial educational board game, but may not display or distribute any images or files from the project. Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who: Enjoys collaborative creative work. Communicates well and is open to feedback. Has experience with educational, family, fantasy, or board game projects (a plus, but not required). Can help elevate an existing design into a polished, publisher-quality product. Preference will be given to designers with experience creating or preparing board games, game boards, fantasy maps, rulebooks, or other print-based tabletop game components.
