Book Layout & Cover Designer (Editorial / Coffee Table / Luxury Storytelling)

We are looking for an experienced book designer to create highly visual, emotionally driven books combining storytelling, photography, and symbolic identity elements (heritage, personal symbols, cultural motifs). Each book is fully custom — designed around a person’s identity. This is closer to a coffee table book or editorial magazine than a traditional book layout. (see some references in the attachment) What you will do: 1)Full book design (100–200+ pages) 2)High-end editorial layout with strong typography and composition 3)Custom visual storytelling for each client (not templates) 4)Cover design aligned with interior concept 5)Print-ready files for production What this is NOT: Not a template-based InDesign formatting job Not simple text layout with stock decorations Not “quick turnaround, minimal design thinking” work Not AI-generated or automated design outputs What we’re looking for: -Proven experience in editorial / magazine / coffee table book design -Strong portfolio showing multi-page storytelling, not just single posters or logos -Excellent typography, hierarchy, and composition skills -Ability to design consistently across long, complex documents -Comfort working with emotional, personal narratives and imagery -Strong communication and reliability To apply (applications missing these will not be considered): 1)Portfolio focused specifically on editorial / book / magazine design 2) 1–2 examples of full multi-page projects (not single-page work) 3)Your typical turnaround time for a 100–150 page book 4)Your pricing model (per project or per page)
