Book Proofreader (Adobe InDesign Required) – Final Pre-Publication Quality Control

I am seeking an experienced Adobe InDesign production proofreader to perform the final publication quality-control review of my nonfiction book before publication. This is NOT a copyediting, rewriting, or developmental editing project. The manuscript has already been professionally edited, professionally proofread, and professionally formatted in Adobe InDesign. I am looking for one final meticulous review to ensure the publication files are free of any remaining errors before printing through Amazon KDP and IngramSpark. This is a short-term project with an expected turnaround of approximately one week. Please apply only if you are available to begin immediately and can dedicate the necessary time to complete a careful review within this timeframe. Accuracy is more important than speed. Required Qualifications Applicants must: Be highly proficient in Adobe InDesign. Have experience proofreading print-ready books. Have experience working with books intended for Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, or similar print-on-demand platforms. Have exceptional attention to detail. Be comfortable making corrections directly within Adobe InDesign. Applications from freelancers who work only in Microsoft Word will not be considered. Project Workflow I will provide: The final edited manuscript. The complete Adobe InDesign package. The print-ready PDF. My house style and capitalization guide. The successful freelancer will: Work directly in the Adobe InDesign file. Carefully proofread the formatted manuscript. Compare the formatted book with the edited manuscript whenever necessary. Make all corrections directly in Adobe InDesign. Export a corrected print-ready PDF. Perform one final quality-control review of the exported PDF. Deliver: the corrected Adobe InDesign package; the final print-ready PDF; a brief list of any questions or issues requiring my decision before publication. I do not want corrections marked in Microsoft Word or PDF for another person to transfer later. All corrections should be implemented directly in the Adobe InDesign document.
