Bookkeeper / Accountant (QuickBooks Online + Stripe Connect + SaaS Experience Required) About Us We're a growing SaaS company in the sports technology industry looking for an experienced bookkeeper or accountant to help us maintain accurate financial records each month. This is an ongoing, long-term relationship for approximately 5–10 hours per month. We're looking for someone who has significant experience with Stripe Connect and QuickBooks Online. If you've never reconciled Stripe Connect before, this likely won't be a good fit. We provide software and payment processing for professional sports organizations throughout North America. We use Stripe Connect to process payments across multiple customer accounts and collect application fees. As we've grown, reconciling Stripe activity has become more complex, and we're looking for someone who can own this process every month while helping us build better visibility into the financial health of the business. Responsibilities Monthly bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online Perform month-end financial close Reconcile bank accounts Reconcile Stripe Connect payouts Reconcile Stripe application fees Match Stripe activity to bank deposits Ensure all revenue and expenses are properly categorized Prepare monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements Identify discrepancies and resolve reconciliation issues Help establish a clean, repeatable accounting process as we continue to grow Create executive financial dashboards and reports that provide visibility into the overall health of the business Build dashboards tracking revenue, profitability, operating expenses, cash flow, payment processing, SaaS recurring revenue, and other key business KPIs Provide financial insights and recommendations based on trends within the business Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning as the company scales Software QuickBooks Online Stripe Connect Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel Bonus Experience Looker Studio Power BI Tableau Financial dashboard creation Qualifications Required Strong QuickBooks Online experience Experience reconciling Stripe Connect accounts Experience working with SaaS businesses Excellent reconciliation skills Strong attention to detail Highly organized and self-directed Fluent English Preferred Experience with payment processors Experience with recurring subscription revenue Experience with technology or software companies Experience building executive financial dashboards CPA or accounting degree is a plus, but not required What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who can become our long-term accounting partner. This is not simply a bookkeeping role. We want someone who understands how Stripe Connect works, can confidently reconcile transactions, explain discrepancies, and ensure our books are accurate every month. We're a fast-growing startup, and like many growing businesses, our financial information isn't always perfectly organized. Data may live across Stripe, QuickBooks, bank accounts, internal reporting systems, spreadsheets, payment reports, and other business platforms. We're looking for someone who enjoys bringing order to complexity rather than expecting perfectly prepared books. The ideal person is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful. They should be comfortable digging through multiple systems to locate financial data, trace transactions, answer accounting questions, and identify discrepancies independently. We don't expect someone to simply wait for information to be handed to them—we're looking for someone who can investigate, connect the dots, and build reliable financial processes. In addition to maintaining accurate financial records, we'd like someone who can help us create executive-level dashboards that provide a clear picture of our business. We want leadership to be able to quickly answer questions such as: How is the business performing this month? What are our revenue trends? How much recurring SaaS revenue do we have? What are our operating expenses? What does our cash flow look like? Are we on track compared to previous months? What KPIs should leadership be monitoring? Ultimately, we're looking for someone who can help transform a growing startup's financial operations into something organized, reliable, and easy to understand. We want this person to become a trusted financial partner who not only keeps our books clean but also provides meaningful reporting and insights that help guide business decisions.
