Bookkeeper UK Structural Design Consultancy (Xero + Hubdoc) Part-Time Remote Bookkeeper for UK Structural Design Consultancy (Xero + Hubdoc) We are a UK-based structural engineering consultancy specialising in structural design services. We're looking for an experienced, reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper to take ownership of our day-to-day finances on a long-term, ongoing basis. This is a fully remote, part-time role with flexible hours – perfect for an experienced UK bookkeeper who values independence and wants a stable, long-term client. About Us We are a small structural design consultancy. We do not have subcontractors, so there is no CIS to deal with – just clean, professional services bookkeeping. What We Need You to Do • Issue client invoices and pro forma invoices on time • Monitor incoming payments and chase overdue accounts by phone and email • Day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero (bank reconciliation, expense classification) • Collect and organise supplier invoices and receipts via Hubdoc • Track and meet key deadlines for VAT Returns (MTD), Corporation Tax and Personal Tax (Self Assessment) • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns • Communicate regularly with our main Accountant • Provide monthly financial reports to the directors (P&L, cashflow, Aged Receivables) • Prepare year-end documentation for the Accountant Must-Have Requirements • Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience with UK-based companies • Strong knowledge of UK tax – VAT (MTD), Corporation Tax, Self Assessment • Confident, hands-on user of Xero and Hubdoc • Excellent written and spoken English • Confident phone manner – comfortable calling clients to chase payments • Highly organised, deadline-driven and able to work independently • Strong attention to detail • Reliable internet connection and a professional remote working setup Nice to Have • AAT, ICB or IAB qualification • Xero Advisor / Xero Certified certification • Experience with professional services / consultancy / design firms • Familiarity with international VAT rules (place of supply for B2B services) Engagement Details • Type: Part-time, ongoing (long-term position) • Hours: Approximately [4] hours per day– flexible scheduling around deadlines • Location: Fully remote (UK-based applicants strongly preferred) • Start date: As soon as it's possibile How to Apply A brief summary of your UK bookkeeping experience How many years you've used Xero and Hubdoc Confirmation that you are comfortable chasing payments by phone.
