Bookkeeper with Experience on QBO and Sage

We're a roofing company looking for an experienced and dependable bookkeeper to support our day-to-day accounting operations as well as fix some issues with our books. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced with QuickBooks Online and Sage as well as P&Ls and balance sheets. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling transactions, and preparing monthly financial reports. Experience working with a construction, roofing, or contracting company is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Record and categorize daily financial transactions in QuickBooks Online Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts Manage accounts payable and ensure vendor bills are processed accurately and on time Manage accounts receivable, customer invoices, payment tracking, and outstanding balances Process payroll and contractor payments Maintain accurate vendor and contractor records Track job-related income, expenses, and profitability Assist with construction job costing Prepare monthly financial reports Review financial records for errors, missing information, or unusual transactions Maintain organized bookkeeping documentation and supporting records Communicate with management regarding payment issues, overdue accounts, and financial discrepancies Assist with month-end closing activities Coordinate with accountants, tax professionals, and company leadership when needed Required Qualifications Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting professional Strong experience using QuickBooks Online Experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable Experience processing payroll and contractor payments Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations Ability to prepare accurate monthly financial reports Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial information Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications Previous bookkeeping experience in construction, roofing, or a related industry Experience with construction job costing Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, and independent contractors Familiarity with multiple projects, departments, or business entities Experience supporting a U.S.-based company What We Are Looking For A good match for this position will be someone who: Keeps financial records accurate and up to date Identifies discrepancies before they become larger problems Communicates clearly when documents or information are missing Understands the importance of proper transaction categorization Can manage recurring bookkeeping responsibilities without constant supervision Is dependable, responsive, and comfortable taking ownership of their work
