Brand Designer for Water Inc.
Worldwide
Join Water Inc. in Los Angeles as a Brand Designer. You'll focus on label design, brand guidelines, and web visual direction. This part-time role requires intermediate proficiency and offers a project-based engagement. Ideal candidates will have experience in logo design, Adobe Photoshop, and graphic design. About the company Water Inc. is a family-owned, Los Angeles-based manufacturer and distributor of premium water filtration and purification systems with a nearly 50-year operating history. We hold NSF certifications and sell through a regional dealer network as well as direct to consumers. We are planning to expand both significantly, particularly with consumers. We are in the early stages of a brand evolution to modernize how we present ourselves across packaging, digital, and marketing materials. *** We're at an interesting moment. We have a genuinely strong product line (but admittedly some work needed there too), a nearly 50-year track record, NSF International certifications that most of our competitors can't claim, and a brand that hasn't quite caught up to any of that. We're not starting from zero, we don't have a cohesive visual system, and we need one. There's also a fun brand transition happening. We were historically a distributor and had licensed other brands to put on our products with both brands on there…confusing to say the least, so we are moving to lead with ours as primary. A lot of marketing materials have been slapped together over the years and it’s time to have a fresh and cohesive look. We don’t need a new logo (yet) but are open to discussing it - our current owner isn’t on board with a change there but let’s talk. What we need: A designer who can do all of this and make it feel cohesive: * Brand guidelines built around our existing logo (or a slight variation of) * Label redesign for our cartridge line — two phases, clean and simple, QR code as a feature, NSF certifications prominent * Web visual direction — mood board and style tile for a new Shopify consumer site (we have a developer; we need the visual system) Starting as a defined project with a full brief ready to go. If we work well together, there's ongoing work: web content, packaging, marketing materials, labels. What we're looking for: Someone with strong brand and packaging chops who edits rather than decorates. Clean, premium, restrained. If your portfolio is busy, we're probably not the right fit. If it's calm and confident, let's talk. Comfort with both print specs (CMYK, bleed, dielines) and digital assets matters. Experience with consumer product brands is a plus — food, beverage, wellness, home goods. You don't need to know anything about water filtration. Most importantly: someone who can read a thorough brief, ask good questions, and then run with it. We don't want to manage every pixel. We want to trust you.
