Job Title: Freelance Budget Analyst Needed for Personal Wealth & Small Business Expense Management Project Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented, trustworthy, and analytical Budget Analyst to help structure, manage, and optimize two distinct financial portfolios: a household personal budget for two family members and an operating budget for our growing small business. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between rigorous corporate financial planning and practical personal wealth tracking, ensuring both entities maintain healthy cash flow and achieve long-term fiscal stability. Key Responsibilities: Personal Budget Management: Collaborate with family members to track monthly household expenses, categorize lifestyle spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and build a sustainable savings and investment allocation plan. Small Business Expense Tracking: Review existing business expenditures, monitor spending patterns against projected revenue, and establish a clear framework for tracking overhead, operational costs, and vendor invoices. Variance Analysis & Forecasting: Conduct regular variance analyses to compare actual spending against forecasted budgets for both personal and business accounts, adjusting projections as market or lifestyle changes dictate. Custom Financial Modeling: Design intuitive, easy-to-update budgeting templates (preferably in Microsoft Excel or enterprise-grade software) that allow non-financial stakeholders to monitor daily transactions seamlessly. Strategic Advising: Provide clear, actionable recommendations regarding resource allocation, debt management, and liquidity planning to safeguard both personal and business financial health. Required Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience as a Budget Analyst, Financial Analyst, or Corporate Accountant. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, formulas, and data visualization). Strong foundational understanding of general accounting principles and small business financial management. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial individuals. Absolute discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism regarding private family and business financial data. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Management. Familiarity with modern expense-tracking software, ERP systems, or personal finance applications (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Mint alternatives). Experience consulting for small businesses or private family offices. Project Scope & Deliverables: Initial audit of current personal and business expenses. Design and delivery of customized monthly/annual budget templates for both entities. Establishment of a recurring monthly review cadence to track progress and refine financial forecasts.
