Build frontend features for a video management system

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to design and deliver improvements and features to our cloud‑based video management system for security and surveillance. Our web app is built without a framework - you'll need to use your existing Javascript (some JQuery), HTML and CSS skills to implement new features and improvements. You will join an existing remote development team and will be helped by a Tech Lead and supported by a Product Manager on MS Teams. Our team are based in the UK and US. The first feature you will work on is a visualisation of analytics data collected from surveillance cameras. Line counts, heat maps, occupancy and motion histograms. You will be given wireframes, user stories with acceptance criteria, an almost complete backend API (you'll be expected to suggest improvements to meet requirements!) and existing UI components and layouts to adapt and re-use. Must have: - Strong experience building frontend UI from proof of concept through to production with HTML, JavaScript and CSS. - Significant experience developing frontend applications in JavaScript. - Strong experience using jQuery to create complex web applications. - Experience with HTTP(S), WebSocket, WebRTC, REST APIs Nice to have: - Experience using JSP for HTML templating. - Understanding of AWS cloud components. - Good understanding of security concepts such as TLS, JWT and signed URLs. - Linux development experience including SSH, networking, systems, filesystems and cron. - Experience using Git, branching strategies and Gitflow. - Excellent written and spoken English for working in a remote engineering team.
