Build responsive WordPress site with booking/payment functionality

I am looking for a developer who has b rand experience with creating sites that promote individual expertise. Preferrably someone who has worked for an agency in the past and is now freelancing. Here is a description of the site I am looking to create: I’m relaunching my online presence around writing, podcasting, in-person dog training, and a library of short-form ebooks. I do not want a complicated membership platform on my website. My paid subscription model will live on Substack. I want my website to function as the clean, warm, organized home base that introduces people to my work and sends them clearly toward the next right step: subscribe, listen, read, book training, download a free resource, or buy an ebook. I need a site that feels editorial, trustworthy, calm, warm, and easy to update. I want it to support cross-promotion between my website and Substack. I will be publishing articles and podcasts on Substack, creating short-form videos for social media, offering in-person training, and selling approximately 50 short ebooks at $2.99 each. I’d like guidance on whether WordPress or Shopify is the better foundation, but my current preference is WordPress unless there is a strong reason to prioritize Shopify. I need the ecommerce piece to be simple and reliable, not overly custom. The first version should include: homepage, about page, training page, Substack/podcast page, ebook shop/library, free downloads page, books/media page, contact/booking inquiry, email capture, analytics, SEO basics, and a mobile-first design. I also need a site structure I can maintain without calling a developer every time I add a podcast, article, ebook, video, or free download.
