Summary

Business Development Manager — Channel Partnerships & Field Events Location: The Colony, TX (home base). Field-based across the Dallas–Fort Worth metro. Must live in the area. Reports to: Senior Manager, Channel Sales Interview Process: Two rounds — an initial virtual conversation, followed by an in-person meeting with our founders in Texas. About us 98th Percentile is a K–12 online enrichment academy serving thousands of families across the United States, with programs in Math, English Language Arts, Coding and Public Speaking for Grades K–12. We're profitable and founder-led. The role You'll build and run a network of channel partners across DFW — local businesses and organizations that already have families with school-age kids walking through their doors. You'll partner with them to host events on their premises, and you'll close the parents who show up. Our team will line up and pre-qualify partner conversations. You go meet them, size up the opportunity, and sign them. That sizing-up is the heart of the job: how many families actually come through this place, what kind of parents are they, is the owner going to promote this or just let you set up a table in the corner. Some of that you can figure out on a call. Most of it you can only figure out by showing up. That's why we need somebody here, not on a screen in another state. From there, the partner is yours. You decide what kind of event fits them, you sell the owner on it, you run it, and you keep the relationship healthy enough that they want you back next month. Typical partners: tutoring and learning centers, preschools and daycares, dance, music, art and sports academies, Indian grocery and retail chains, community and cultural centers, faith organizations, apartment communities and HOAs, and kids' activity franchises. What you'll do Sign and grow partners Meet pre-qualified partners in person and close the partnership on the ground Read the opportunity — foot traffic, parent base, the owner's willingness to actually push it — and prioritize your time toward the partners who'll produce Handle onboarding: agreement, event calendar, co-promotion plan, a real point of contact Manage an active portfolio of partners; keep the good ones producing month after month, and keep replacing the ones that go quiet Get more out of every partner over time. A partner who runs one small event should be running two bigger ones by month three Design and run events Figure out what event will actually pull for each partner's audience — parent workshops, free assessment camps, demo classes, info sessions, holiday and festival booths, in-store activations, competitions for kids — and sell the partner on doing it Run events at partner locations on a steady weekly cadence Own the logistics: venue, timing, getting the partner to promote it, materials, capturing sign-ups on site Run the room yourself — present to a group of parents, work a table one-on-one, and hold the attention of the kids while you're at it Sell Convert parents at the event and in the days right after Run one-on-one and small-group parent conversations; understand where the child actually is and recommend the right program Own it start to finish: lead capture → follow-up → consultation → close → clean handover to our Student Success team Keep both sides happy Partners have to feel like this is good for their business, not a favor they're doing us. Parents have to feel like they were helped, not sold. Holding both of those at once is the job Stay organized Keep partners, events, leads and outcomes updated in HubSpot the same day Record and share event and consultation sessions for coaching and quality Bring back a weekly plan and a weekly read on what's working — which partner types convert, which event formats land, what parents keep asking about This is a quota-carrying role. We'll walk through specific targets and how incentives work when we talk. What we're looking for 1–2+ years in sales, business development, field sales, or another customer-facing role where you carried a number You live in DFW and you know it — the neighborhoods, the businesses, the community calendar, where the families actually are. You should be able to point at a map and tell us where to go Real familiarity with the local South Asian community and the organizations that serve it Street-smart. You'll be out there alone, running into situations nobody briefed you on, and you'll have to make the call in the moment People like talking to you. You build trust fast and you're persuasive without being pushy. In this role that matters more than a polished pitch Comfortable in every format — a quiet conversation with one parent, a table with a few families, a room with thirty Good with kids. You'll be running sessions with them, not just talking about them Self-directed and disciplined about follow-up and logging. Nobody's looking over your shoulder Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license. You'll be driving all over the metro Available evenings and weekends — that's when family events happen Authorized to work in the U.S. (we're not sponsoring visas for this role) Nice to have Existing relationships with tutoring centers, activity academies, retailers or community organizations serving families in DFW Background in education, edtech, or consumer/retail sales Experience running or presenting at in-person events HubSpot or similar CRM Why this one There's no playbook here yet — you'll write it. You'll have real say in which partners we go after and what we do with them, and you'll see the results of your own judgment inside of a few weeks. If it works, this becomes the model we run nationally, and you built it. Uncapped incentives, and no state income tax. To apply: Send your resume along with a short note naming three businesses or organizations in DFW you'd go after first, and why you think they'd deliver. Work Location: Field-based, DFW metro
