Business Operations Consultant Needed to Build Systems, SOPs & Workflows for Low‑Voltage / AV Company (Construction + IT Partner Support) About Us We are a growing low‑voltage, structured cabling, telecom, and AV integration company serving both the construction sector and national IT service providers. Our work includes: Division 27/28 structured cabling projects AV installations and upgrades Fiber, data, Wi‑Fi, and network infrastructure Break/fix dispatch, site surveys, and new installs for national IT partners Bidding on public sector projects through state, local and federal procurement portals, such as Bidnet, EMMA, Buildingconnected and others We are now building a company that can operate smoothly without daily owner involvement, supported by clear systems, documented processes, and efficient workflows. What We Need We are looking for an experienced Business Operations Consultant who can design, document, and implement the operational backbone of our company. 1. Build and document company‑wide systems Including but not limited to: Bid management workflow (EMMA, BidNet, buildingconnected, federal bids) Estimating & proposal workflow Project kickoff, execution & closeout Break/fix dispatch workflow (for IT partners) Site survey workflow Procurement & vendor coordination Field technician workflow Service ticket management Customer communication workflow Invoicing & collections Quality control & documentation 2. Create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) Clear, step‑by‑step instructions for: Estimating Bidding Field operations Dispatching Reporting Subcontractor coordination Project documentation Closeout packages 3. Build an Operations Manual A complete “company playbook” that any team member can follow. 4. Implement tools & automations Help us select and set up tools such as: Monday / Asana / Trello Airtable Make.com / Zapier CRM or job management platforms Document templates KPI dashboards 5. Improve efficiency & remove bottlenecks We want a business that runs on systems, not on memory. Ideal Candidate You should have experience in at least one of these areas (more is better): Business operations consulting Process improvement / workflow design SOP creation Project management (PMP is a plus) Experience with service-based companies Experience with construction trades or field‑service operations Experience with IT service providers or MSP workflows Familiarity with break/fix dispatch models Familiarity with public sector bidding Ability to map processes and turn them into repeatable systems Ability to train team members on new workflows What Success Looks Like By the end of this engagement, we want: A fully documented operations manual Clear workflows for every department SOPs that any new hire can follow A project management system that keeps everything organized Automations that reduce manual work A business that can run without daily owner involvement To Apply, Please Answer These Questions Have you built systems or SOPs for a service‑based, construction, or IT‑service company before?
