CAD Designer / Mechanical Engineer for 1/3 Scale V8 R/C Top Fuel Dragster & Funny Car Engines ⸻ Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Designer and Mechanical Engineering Freelancer to assist in the development of high-performance 1/3 Scale V8 Engines for fully functional R/C Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars. This is a unique motorsports engineering project involving giant-scale remote-controlled drag racing vehicles built with real-world engineering principles scaled down into competitive high-horsepower R/C applications. The ideal candidate has experience in: * Mechanical CAD design * Automotive engine design * CNC-ready modeling * Precision component drafting * Motorsports or racing applications * Complex assemblies and moving mechanical systems ⸻ About the Project SCE Scaled Creations Engineering / 1/3 Scale Motorsports is developing: * 1/3 Scale V8 Engines * R/C Top Fuel Dragsters * R/C Funny Cars * Functional drivetrain systems * Custom intake manifolds * Blower systems * Cylinder heads * Ignition systems * Fuel systems * Chassis components These are not static display models — these are fully engineered, remote-controlled racing machines. ⸻ Responsibilities * Create 3D CAD models and technical drawings * Design functional miniature V8 engine components * Prepare CNC/manufacturing-ready files * Assist with mechanical fitment and tolerances * Develop assemblies and exploded views * Revise designs from concept sketches and blueprints * Collaborate on performance-focused engineering solutions * Optimize designs for machining and manufacturability ⸻ Preferred Software Skills Experience with one or more: * Fusion 360 * SolidWorks * Shapr3D * Inventor * Blender (mechanical modeling) * AutoCAD ⸻ Preferred Experience Strong preference given to freelancers with backgrounds in: * Automotive engineering * Motorsports * Nitro racing * RC vehicle engineering * Small engine design * CNC machining * Performance fabrication ⸻ Required Deliverables * STEP files * STL files * Technical drawings * Dimensioned blueprints * Assembly files * Manufacturing-ready CAD files ⸻ Screening Test (Paid) Applicants may be asked to complete: * A basic 30-minute CAD drafting test * Blueprint interpretation exercise * Simple engine component modeling task ⸻ Project Type * Long-term collaboration possible * Hourly or fixed-price contracts available * Remote freelance work ⸻ You are: * Detail-oriented * Passionate about engineering * Able to work independently * Interested in innovative motorsports projects * Comfortable designing precision mechanical systems ⸻ Company SCE Scaled Creations Engineering 1/3 Scale Motorsports Giant Scale R/C Top Fuel Dragsters & Funny Cars Building next-generation giant-scale drag racing machines with real mechanical engineering.
