CLIA-Certified Group Cruise Travel Agent — Craft Retreat Cruises (Ongoing)
Worldwide
Leatherback Travel (https://leatherbacktravel.com/) runs immersive, small-group craft retreats around the world — including a ceramics retreat in Sicily (Italy) and a knitting retreat in Provence (France). We're expanding into craft-themed cruises, starting with a knitting/fiber-arts cruise for a small group (roughly 20–40 guests, 8–20 cabins). Despite being new to cruises, don’t be fooled, we were among Australia’s fastest growing businesses in 2025 (https://www.afr.com/companies/retail/living-out-of-a-suitcase-while-building-adventures-for-travellers-20251110-p5n921). We know how to scale new travel offerings - fast. We're looking for a CLIA-credentialed travel agent with real group/affinity cruise experience to join our team on an ongoing basis — not a one-off booking gig. This is a long-term relationship: you'll be our go-to cruise expert as we launch this first sailing and then scale to future craft cruises (potentially other crafts and larger groups down the line). What you'll do: * Advise on and secure a group cabin block (~8–20 cabins) for our first knitting/fiber-arts cruise * Recommend suitable cruise lines, ships, and itineraries for a craft-retreat-style group (private meeting/class space for daily knitting sessions is a must) * Handle the group contract: deposits, payment schedule, recall/attrition dates, tour-conductor credits, and group amenity points * Advise on realistic timelines (we understand ~12 months lead time is typical, but have experience in scaling and growing completely new offers) * Help us understand pricing so we can set per-guest rates that work for our business * Be available for ongoing consultation as we plan future sailings What we're looking for: * CLIA certification (Accredited Cruise Counsellor or higher strongly preferred) — please state your certification level * Demonstrated experience booking group or affinity/theme cruises (not just individual leisure bookings) — bonus points for hobby, craft, or interest-group cruises (knitting, quilting, scrapbooking, etc.) * Comfortable working with an international client and international guests — we are not US-based, though we understand most group cruise infrastructure is US-centric * Clear communicator who can explain group cruise mechanics (TC credits, GAP points, recall dates) in plain language for someone new to the industry * Based anywhere; this is a remote, ongoing collaboration To apply, please include: 1. Your CLIA certification level and host agency/agency affiliation 2. A brief description of any group or affinity/theme cruises you've booked (headcount, craft/theme if applicable) 3. How you typically structure fees for group cruise planning (commission-based, retainer, flat fee, etc.) 4. Your experience (if any) working with international clients or guests
