CRO Program Manager / Technical PM — 8-Figure DTC Apparel Brand (Shopify)
Worldwide
**Job type:** Freelance, part-time to start (15–25 hrs/week), long-term **Level:** Expert **Start:** ASAP — our first A/B test launches in the next few weeks and Q4 peak season starts October 1 ## About us We're one of the largest dog apparel brands in the world, www.sparkpaws.com, we are built on Shopify (Prestige theme), selling globally across US/CA, EU/UK, and AU/NZ. ~90% of our traffic is mobile. We have a validated CRO roadmap and a full analytics stack in place. What we're missing is the person who owns the testing program end to end and keeps it moving. ## The role You are NOT a designer and NOT a developer. Design is handled by the founder; development is handled by our existing dev team. Your job is everything between an idea and a shipped, validated winner: - **Own the A/B testing pipeline** — maintain the test backlog, write test specs and hypotheses, define success metrics (our north star is RPV — revenue per visitor), decide test duration and stopping rules - **Set up and run tests in Intelligems** (theme tests, page tests, later price/shipping tests) — configure splits, audiences, and goals correctly - **QA every test before launch** — desktop + mobile, all markets/currencies, checkout flow, pixel/event firing. Nothing goes live half-checked - **Project-manage the dev team** — write clear tickets, set deadlines, follow up, unblock, escalate. Our developers are capable but need active management and accountability - **Monitor and analyze** — GA4 (funnel explorations, e-commerce events), Intelligems results, Hotjar (heatmaps, recordings, surveys). Flag problems early, call tests correctly (no peeking, no premature winners) - **Track and document everything** — a clean changelog of every site change, test results archive, learnings library. If it isn't documented, it didn't happen - **Coordinate the calendar** — sequence tests around promotions and seasonality, enforce a code freeze before Q4 peak ## Our stack (you should know most of this) - Shopify (Prestige theme, Shopify Markets, multi-currency) - Intelligems (or equivalent: Convert, VWO, Optimizely, Shoplift) - GA4 — explorations, funnels, event debugging - Hotjar — heatmaps, recordings, surveys - Klaviyo, Meta Ads, Google Ads (awareness-level; you won't run ads) - Basic HTML/CSS/Liquid literacy is a big plus — enough to QA dev work and spot issues, not to build ## You're a fit if - 3+ years running CRO/experimentation programs for DTC e-commerce brands (Shopify strongly preferred), ideally at $10M+ revenue scale - You understand testing statistics: sample size, significance, power, why you can't call a test at day 4, why RPV beats CVR as a primary metric - You've personally configured and QA'd tests in Intelligems or a comparable tool — not just read the results - You're an aggressive project manager: you chase people, you hit dates, you communicate proactively without being chased yourself - You write clearly and document obsessively - You can overlap at least 3–4 hours with European working hours (our dev team is in Eastern Europe) ## Not a fit if - You're primarily a designer, developer, or media buyer looking to expand - You need daily direction — this role exists so the founder can step back from process management - Your experience is mostly lead-gen/SaaS landing pages rather than e-commerce ## How to apply Start your proposal with the word "SPARK" so we know you read this We move fast. Shortlisted candidates get a 20-minute call, then a short paid trial task (writing a test spec + QA checklist for a real upcoming test).
