Camera Systems and Computer Vision Consultant
Worldwide
We design automated inventory systems that track items using cameras and onboard sensors. We are choosing and designing the camera setup that our products will run on, and I am looking for someone who knows this area well enough to help us get those decisions right. This is a consulting role to start. I want someone who has done this before, not someone learning on our time. Here is what the work looks like. You would help us choose and design the camera side of the system, from the sensor and lens all the way to the board and the interface, and make sure all of it feeds the software that runs the detection cleanly. We have already done a lot of the early groundwork and we have a clear direction. What I want is someone who can pressure test those choices, catch the things we have not thought of, and help us land on hardware we can stand behind as we scale. A few examples of what you would weigh in on: Picking the right image sensor and lens for the job, based on how far the camera sits from what it needs to see Choosing the camera board and interface, and reviewing quotes from manufacturers Making sure the camera output works cleanly with an on-device AI pipeline Flagging tradeoffs early, before they turn into expensive problems The part that matters most to me is that you have lived on both sides of this. Plenty of people can spec a camera. Plenty of people can train a model. I am looking for the person who has done both, because the camera choice and the vision software are tied together, and people who only know one half tend to miss where they meet. If you have built or deployed computer vision on embedded hardware, that is exactly the background I want. When you reach out, skip the generic pitch. Tell me about a camera system you actually helped choose or design, and what you would want to know before recommending a sensor and lens for a new one. Point me to real projects, and lead with anything that involved cameras plus on-device or edge AI. That is the work that tells me you are the right fit. Remote is fine. This starts as a consulting engagement and can grow depending on how it goes. I have not locked in how pay will work yet, so tell me how you like to structure this kind of work and what your rate looks like, and we will sort out the right arrangement together. If this sounds like your wheelhouse, I want to hear from you.
