Canton Fair Supplier Sourcing & Product Research – Phases 2 & 3

Ideal FreelancerJob Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented supplier sourcing/research professional located in or attending the Canton Fair in Guangzhou, China to collect and document supplier information during Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the Canton Fair. The primary goal is to identify reliable manufacturers/suppliers, collect accurate product and pricing information, and organize everything into a clear English-language spreadsheet for our purchasing team to evaluate. Phase 2 – Ceramics & Gifts During Phase 2, we need to identify suppliers/manufacturers for: Ceramics Gift products Decorative gift items Relevant home/gift merchandise Phase 3 – Home Textiles During Phase 3, we need to identify suppliers/manufacturers for: Home textiles Household textile products Relevant soft-home products What You Will Need to Collect For each promising supplier, you will need to accurately document: Supplier/company name Contact person's name Position/title of contact Phone/WhatsApp/WeChat, if available Email address Website Factory/manufacturer information, if available Product categories Specific products of interest MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) Estimated/unit pricing or price range Available customization/private-label options Production lead time, if available Export markets, if relevant Any other important purchasing information Required Documentation For every supplier we select, we require: Clear photo of the supplier's business card/name card Clear photo(s) of the supplier's booth Photos of the relevant products Supplier catalog, brochure, or product materials provided by the supplier Accurate contact information Any pricing/MOQ information provided by the supplier Notes about the supplier and products that would be useful for our purchasing decision The booth photo should ideally show the booth, supplier/company name, and relevant products. If the supplier provides a digital catalog, PDF catalog, WeChat catalog, website, or other product information, please save/share it with us. Spreadsheet Requirements All information should be organized into a well-structured Excel/Google Sheets spreadsheet in English. Each supplier should have a separate row, with columns such as: Supplier Name Contact Name Position Phone WhatsApp WeChat Email Website Product Category Product Description MOQ Estimated Unit Cost Customization Available Lead Time Catalog/Link Business Card Photo Booth Photo Product Photo Supplier Notes Accuracy is extremely important. Please verify names, contact information, MOQ, pricing, and other supplier details before entering them into the We are looking for someone who: Will be physically attending the Canton Fair during the relevant phases Has experience with supplier sourcing, purchasing, or factory research in China Is comfortable approaching suppliers and asking detailed questions Can communicate effectively in English Can communicate with Chinese suppliers in Mandarin or through translation tools Is highly organized and detail-oriented Takes clear, useful photos Is comfortable using Excel or Google Sheets Understands MOQ, wholesale pricing, manufacturing, and supplier terminology Can distinguish between a manufacturer/factory and a trading company, when possible Can collect and organize a large amount of information accurately Previous Canton Fair sourcing experience is a strong advantage. Deliverables The final deliverables should include: 1. Completed supplier spreadsheet All supplier information accurately entered in English. 2. Supplier business cards/name cards Clear photos or scans for each supplier. 3. Booth photos Clear photos showing the supplier's booth. 4. Product photos Photos of the relevant products we may be interested in purchasing. 5. Supplier catalogs Digital catalogs, PDFs, brochures, or other product information provided by the supplier. 6. Pricing & MOQ information Estimated unit cost and MOQ for relevant products wherever the supplier is willing to provide the information. Important This is not simply a photography job. We need someone who can actively approach suppliers, ask questions, collect purchasing information, and determine which suppliers/products are worth considering. The quality of the research is more important than simply collecting a large number of business cards. We would prefer fewer high-quality, well-documented suppliers over hundreds of suppliers with incomplete information. Please keep all information organized and clearly labeled so that our team can review suppliers and products after the Canton Fair.
