Car/Racing Merch Design - AI/Midjourney Design Expert w/ Print-on-Demand Experience
Worldwide
ABOUT THE PROJECT I run RevLine99 Motorsport, a premium motorsport/car-culture apparel brand (t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, hats, accessories). The aesthetic is dark, bold, high-contrast — black, red, and white — cinematic and racing-inspired. Think exotic cars, famous racetracks, speed, and moody automotive photography turned into wearable art. I have a Midjourney Pro account and need a skilled designer who is an expert at Midjourney AND can turn those generations into clean, print-ready files for print-on-demand production (Printful). I have a huge well of inspiration to work from — famous race circuits, exotic/race cars, and a full slogan bank — and I want to build a strong collection of designs. This starts as a defined first project (a batch of designs — see below) with strong potential for ongoing work producing new designs and drops if it goes well. WHAT I NEED YOU TO CREATE (SCOPE OF WORK) A collection of original, on-brand apparel graphics — delivered both as production-ready print files AND as on-model lifestyle product photos (person wearing the design at a racetrack/motorsport setting): 10–15 t-shirt designs — mix of: racetrack/circuit-themed graphics, car/racing imagery, and slogan-based designs (I’ll provide the slogans and creative direction) 2–3 hoodie designs A few jacket/outerwear graphics Designs should work primarily as large back prints and smaller front/chest hits (streetwear style) Each design delivered in multiple colorway versions where relevant (e.g., works on black, white, and sand garments) For each design: matching on-model lifestyle photos for the store (details below) These must be PRINT-READY, not just AI images: All text rebuilt in real, clean typography (Midjourney garbles text — that must be fixed in a real design tool; no misspelled or distorted lettering) Files at 300 DPI, correct dimensions for apparel printing Transparent backgrounds (PNG) and/or vector files (AI/SVG/PDF) for logos and text elements Built to Printful’s file/print specifications (I’ll share these) My logo and wordmark incorporated cleanly using the real brand files I provide ALSO REQUIRED — on-model lifestyle product images: In addition to the print files, I want lifestyle product photos for the store — a person wearing each design, ideally with a racetrack/motorsport setting in the background (premium, cinematic, on-brand). Important: the shirt in these images must show my ACTUAL design accurately — not an AI-invented or garbled version. The correct method (which you should be comfortable with): Generate a realistic on-model scene (person + track background) in Midjourney/AI Composite my real print-ready design onto the garment in Photoshop — properly warped, shaded, and blended so it looks naturally worn while staying pixel-accurate to my actual artwork Deliver these as clean, high-resolution images sized for Shopify product pages A few angles/variations per design where it makes sense (e.g., front and back) If you can’t guarantee the design on the model matches my real artwork exactly, this isn’t the right project — accurate, professional compositing is a must. THE WORKFLOW I’M ENVISIONING You generate on-brand imagery/concepts in Midjourney (I’ll give you access to my Pro account OR you generate and I reimburse — we’ll agree on the setup) You refine the best concepts and clean them into print-ready files (text, vectors, specs) You deliver finals to a shared folder (Dropbox/Drive) organized as I specify I review, request revisions, approve WHAT I’LL PROVIDE Midjourney Pro access (or an agreed arrangement) Full brand brief: logo files (vector + PNG), brand colors (hex), fonts A large slogan bank and creative direction Reference imagery and design directions (the look I’m going for) A list of the racetracks and car themes to work from Printful’s print-file specs REQUIREMENTS — PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING Demonstrated Midjourney expertise — share a portfolio of work you’ve created with Midjourney (prompting skill, style control, quality) MUST understand Print-on-Demand (POD) design — this is essential. You need hands-on experience designing specifically for POD platforms (Printful/Printify) and you must understand: print areas/print files per garment type and how to set them up; how DTG printing actually looks on dark vs. light fabrics (and designing accordingly); file requirements (300 DPI, transparent PNG, vector files, correct dimensions, bleed/safe areas); how a design translates from screen to a real printed garment; and working within Printful’s specific product templates and specs Strong graphic design skills — you must be able to take AI output and produce clean, professional, print-ready files (Photoshop/Illustrator/Affinity or equivalent) Photo compositing skill — ability to place a real design onto an AI-generated model/garment convincingly (warping, shading, blending) so on-model photos show the actual artwork accurately Apparel/merch/streetwear design experience strongly preferred — share examples of designs that went to print Excellent eye for bold, premium, cohesive branding — not generic AI art Good written English and responsive, collaborative communication Able to take creative direction and iterate based on feedback HOW TO APPLY (PLEASE FOLLOW THESE — APPLICATIONS THAT DON’T WILL BE IGNORED) Start your reply with the word “APEX” so I know you read the full post Share a portfolio link showing (a) Midjourney work and (b) print-ready apparel/merch designs you’ve made Tell me briefly: how do you take a Midjourney image and make it print-ready (your process for fixing text, resolution, and file format)? And how do you create on-model photos that show a real design accurately (your compositing process)? Confirm your POD experience: Which print-on-demand platforms have you designed for (Printful/Printify/other)? Share examples of designs that went to print. Briefly: what do you do differently when designing for a dark garment vs. a light one on DTG? Give me a rough price and timeline for an initial batch (let’s say 3–5 designs as a starting test), plus your rate for ongoing design work One sentence on why this brand/project fits your style HOW I’LL HIRE I’ll shortlist strong candidates and start with a small paid test batch (3–5 designs, with at least one delivered as a full on-model lifestyle photo) so I can see your design quality, your print-readiness, AND your compositing skill before committing to the full collection. A great test batch leads to the full collection, plus ongoing work for new designs and drops.
