Caregiver Recruiter

We are a licensed California home care agency based in Los Angeles, serving clients throughout Southern and Central California. We are looking for a remote bilingual (Spanish/English) recruiter or candidate screener to support our caregiver hiring process, or referrals to someone who would be a great fit. The primary responsibility of this role is candidate screening, not onboarding or paperwork. Most applicants already come through our recruiting channels (primarily Indeed and other community and workforce programs). Our applicant platform also includes an initial questionnaire that automatically filters candidates. The screener’s role is to conduct a 10–15 minute phone or video interview and determine whether the applicant should move forward. The ideal person should have strong judgment and be able to quickly identify candidates who are: * Reliable and professional * Compassionate and patient with elderly clients * Good communicators * Dependable and committed to the role We’ve found that poor screening leads to hiring caregivers who are unreliable, frequently miss shifts, or are simply not a good fit for working with vulnerable seniors. Because of this, we intentionally have a high screening standard and prefer quality over quantity. We are developing a structured interview guide and scorecard, so the process will be standardized while still allowing the recruiter to use their own judgment. Responsibilities include: * Reviewing applications * Conducting brief Spanish/English screening interviews (10–15 minutes) * Evaluating candidates using a scorecard * Recommending whether a candidate should move forward This role does not include: * Collecting documents * Managing onboarding paperwork * Handling licensing or compliance documentation * Scheduling or HR administration Our hiring goal is approximately 10 caregivers per week, which typically involves reviewing around 500 applications and conducting 100–150 screening interviews. Success in this role will not be measured by the number of interviews completed, but by the quality of hires. We plan to review caregiver performance after three months and use that as the primary indicator of recruiting success.
