Cartographer- Map Visualization Specialist – Vacant Land Marketplace

Job Description We are building a modern Geo AI-powered vacant land marketplace. We have already enriched over 10,000 vacant land parcels in the US and need beautiful, clear, and professional maps to showcase this data. We are looking for a skilled Cartographer who stays current with the latest techniques and tools to create high-quality modern map images and visualizations for our platform. This is a long-term part-time contract role (starting at 5-10 hours/week) with the possibility for more hours based on demonstrated quality and skill. Key Responsibilities - Design and create modern, visually compelling map products for web and marketing use - Develop map styles, symbology, color schemes, and layouts that effectively communicate complex land data - Work with geo-referenced imagery and vector data to produce accurate, attractive maps - Optimize maps for web performance (interactive + static outputs) - Collaborate with the GIS and frontend teams to integrate maps into the platform - Stay up-to-date with latest cartographic trends and tools Requirements - Strong cartography portfolio with modern map examples - Up-to-date knowledge of current cartographic techniques and design tools - Experience creating both interactive web maps and high-quality static map images - Proficiency with geoserver, SLD, Mapbox - Strong sense of design, typography, and data visualization - Ability to work with geo-referenced data while maintaining spatial accuracy - Develop and maintain a style guide for the system Big Plus - Experience with geo-referenced Generative AI tools for map/image enhancement or creation Nice-to-Have - Experience in real estate or proptech visualization - Knowledge of GIS data (PostGIS, GDAL) - Web development skills (HTML/CSS, React) What We Offer - Competitive hourly rate - Opportunity to shape the visual identity of a modern land marketplace - Flexible part-time schedule To Apply Please submit: 1.
