Character Designer / Concept Artist for Animated Dark Fantasy Feature Trailer We are producing the concept trailer for an animated dark fantasy feature. Think haunted town, cursed legacy, moonlit forests, witches, immortals, and shapeshifters. We are looking for a character designer and concept artist who can actually draw and provide notes on the pre-existing visual style for this world. The animation itself is handled in-house. What we need from you is the human artistry at the front of that pipeline: doing alternative angles/notes on our original character design and helping do notes to set the defined style and world. You bring the drawing skill and experience with animation styles. We bring the script, the direction, and the animation. What you will create: - Notes on Character designs for the lead cast, with strong silhouettes, personality, and appeal - Turnarounds, expression sheets, and key poses so each character stays consistent - One or two style frames that lock the look, palette, and mood of the world - Select location and prop designs to support the trailer - Art direction notes and revisions so we align the look together You are a strong fit if you: - Can genuinely draw and design from scratch, not just render or retouch - Have a character design or concept art portfolio, ideally in fantasy, animation, comics, or games - Understand designing for animation: consistency, model sheets, readability, appeal - Take notes well and iterate quickly toward a locked style - Are comfortable that your designs will feed an AI-assisted animation process This starts with the trailer and can extend into other projects for the right designer.
