Chemist / Formulator Needed – Offset Printing Chemical Products

Job Description: We are launching a line of professional auxiliary chemical products for the offset printing industry (prepress, press, and finishing) in Algeria, and are looking for an experienced chemist or formulator to help us develop and validate our formulas. Products we need to develop: Fountain/dampening solutions (for sheet-fed and rotary offset presses, alcohol and alcohol-free versions) Alcohol substitutes for offset printing Plate cleaners (for aluminum plates) Plate developers/revealers (for analog and thermal CTP plates) Gum arabic solution (plate protection) Wash-up solutions (manual and automatic press washing) Related maintenance and cleaning products for printing equipment What we're looking for: Proven experience formulating industrial/graphic arts chemical products, ideally in printing, coatings, or a related specialty chemicals field Ability to provide functional, cost-effective formulas adapted to sheet-fed and/or rotary offset presses Knowledge of raw material sourcing (buffers, glycols, surfactants, biocides, gum arabic, etc.) and guidance on suppliers where possible Understanding of relevant technical parameters (pH, conductivity, surface tension) and quality control basics Ability to deliver clear technical documentation / formulation sheets (cahier des charges) that a local production team can follow Prior experience adapting formulas for North African or similar climates/markets is a plus Scope of work: Review of our target product list and market requirements Development of base formulas for priority products (starting with dampening solution and plate cleaner) Recommendations on raw material suppliers accessible for import or regional sourcing Basic QC protocol/testing guidance for validating batches Ongoing consultation as we scale to additional products in the range How to apply: Please share relevant experience with printing/graphic arts chemicals or adjacent industrial formulations, examples of past formulation work (if shareable), and your estimated approach/timeline for developing 2–3 initial formulas.
