Summary

I am looking for a chess coach, but with a slightly different coaching model than the traditional one. My current rapid rating is around *1560, and my long-term goal is to reach **1800*. One challenge I've had with previous coaches is that they often assigned large amounts of homework—books to read, hundreds of puzzles, long opening repertoires, etc. Unfortunately, with my work and family commitments, I simply don't have the time to follow that approach consistently. Instead, I'm looking for coaching that is highly targeted and time-efficient. For example, I would like you to review my last 10 games, identify the biggest weaknesses that are costing me rating points, and give me only the most impactful areas to work on. As my game evolves, we would repeat the process and continuously adjust the focus. I am also interested in a performance-based payment model. Rather than paying primarily for lessons, I would like to pay for measurable progress. For example, we could agree on rating milestones, and each milestone achieved would trigger an agreed payment. We can also establish clear rules in advance—for example, which rating pool counts, how many games can be played within a period, and any other conditions needed to make the arrangement fair for both of us. I realize this is not a standard coaching proposal, and I'm open to discussing a structure that works for both of us. My objective isn't to avoid paying for coaching—I simply want my investment to be directly tied to real improvement. I believe this also creates a strong incentive for us to work as a team toward a common goal. If this approach sounds interesting, I'd be happy to discuss the details and see whether we'd be a good fit. I consider myself a reliable, committed client and, if we work well together, I'm looking for a long-term coaching relationship.
