Chief Architect & AutoCAD Support

We are seeking an experienced architectural drafter with expert-level proficiency in Chief Architect X17 and a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD to assist with residential architectural projects throughout the United States. The ideal candidate has experience producing permit-ready construction documents that comply with U.S. residential construction standards and can work independently with minimal supervision. Experience converting point cloud scans into accurate existing-condition models is highly preferred, as this is an important part of our workflow. This is an ongoing opportunity with the potential for a long-term working relationship as project volume continues to grow. Responsibilities Create accurate existing-condition models from point clouds, laser scans, field measurements, photographs, PDFs, and sketches. Prepare complete permit and construction document sets for residential projects throughout the United States. Produce floor plans, foundation plans, framing plans, roof plans, elevations, building sections, wall sections, schedules, and construction details. Revise drawings based on architectural markups, consultant comments, and client revisions. Draft, edit, and organize AutoCAD drawings and architectural details. Maintain clean, organized Chief Architect plan and layout files that follow established drafting standards. Coordinate directly with the architect to ensure drawing accuracy, consistency, and timely project delivery. Required Qualifications Expert proficiency in Chief Architect X17. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD. Experience producing permit-ready U.S. residential construction documents. Experience creating existing-condition models from point cloud data, laser scans, or similar reality-capture technology. Strong understanding of U.S. residential construction methods, wood framing, and detailing. Familiarity with the International Residential Code (IRC). Excellent attention to detail and drawing organization. Strong written English communication skills. Ability to work independently while meeting project deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SketchUp. Experience with Rhino. Experience with Lumion. Experience working with U.S.-based architects, designers, or residential builders. Knowledge of structural drafting and construction detailing. Familiarity with Polycam, LiDAR, or other point cloud workflows.
