Role Summary: As a Fractional CFO, you will serve as a strategic financial partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, helping guide financial decision-making, scalable growth, and long-term business strategy. This role is heavily focused on forward-looking financial leadership, operational scalability, and performance-driven growth economics, rather than transactional accounting. The ideal candidate has deep experience supporting SaaS, subscription-based, or digital product businesses and understands the financial dynamics of recurring revenue models, customer acquisition economics, retention, and marketing-driven scale. Experience working within high-growth, performance marketing environments is strongly preferred, particularly businesses that scale aggressively through paid acquisition spend. This individual will own and maintain the company’s financial forecast model, provide strategic financial guidance to leadership, and deliver ongoing analysis and reporting on SaaS and subscription business metrics. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Planning & Forecasting Own and maintain the company’s integrated financial forecast model, including 3-statement forecasting (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow). Build scenario models and sensitivity analyses tied to growth initiatives, marketing spend, pricing strategies, and operational scaling. Develop long-range financial plans to support strategic business decisions and capital efficiency. Provide executive leadership with forward-looking financial insights and recommendations. Support financial planning and analysis for performance marketing initiatives and paid media investments. Model and evaluate marketing spend efficiency, customer acquisition economics, and scaling thresholds. Provide financial guidance around growth pacing, CAC efficiency, and profitability tradeoffs. Collaborate with growth and marketing leaders to ensure alignment between financial goals and acquisition strategies. SaaS Metrics & Subscription Economics Define, track, analyze, and report on key SaaS and subscription business metrics, including: ARR / MRR, CAC, LTV, Payback Period, Gross Margin, Retention & Churn, Cohort Performance, Revenue Expansion, and Contribution Margin. Analyze subscription and customer lifecycle data to identify growth opportunities and operational risks. Evaluate customer acquisition efficiency and marketing ROI across paid acquisition channels. Partner with leadership on pricing strategy, monetization opportunities, and margin optimization. Capital Strategy & Financial Advisory Advise on cash flow, runway, and capital allocation strategies. Support leadership with financial planning tied to growth initiatives and scaling operations. Prepare executive-level financial reporting and dashboards. Provide strategic guidance on potential fundraising, financing, or reinvestment decisions (as applicable). Finance Operations & Infrastructure Oversee cash flow management and financial health of the business. Evaluate and improve financial systems, reporting infrastructure, and operational processes. Establish scalable financial controls and reporting frameworks appropriate for a high-growth environment. Ensure financial reporting accuracy and adherence to accounting best practices. Partner with accounting and operational teams to improve visibility into business performance. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and best practices Leadership & Business Partnership Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on financial strategy and business decisions. Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership. Partner cross-functionally to align financial strategy with operational execution. Required Qualifications: 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant experience supporting SaaS, subscription-based, or digital product companies. Proven experience in a fractional CFO or senior finance leadership role. Strong financial modeling and forecasting expertise. Deep understanding of SaaS metrics (e.g., CAC, LTV, retention, revenue growth). Experience with financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and reporting tools. Experience supporting businesses with significant paid acquisition or performance marketing spend. Strong strategic finance and business partnership capabilities. Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on within a lean, fast-moving environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence executive decision-making. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with high-growth digital subscription, SaaS, info-product, consumer subscription, or recurring revenue businesses. Experience supporting performance marketing organizations or businesses heavily dependent on paid media acquisition. Background in startup or rapidly scaling environments. Experience with financial planning and BI tools such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Mosaic, Cube, Looker, Tableau, or similar platforms..
