Children's Animation Scriptwriter – Test Project (1 Episode) We're looking for an experienced children's scriptwriter for a test episode of an original animated series called Making the Beans. About the Show Making the Beans follows five misfit jellybeans who discover they each have a gift — and that those gifts only matter when they're used together. The show tracks their journey from strangers to a real band. Not the version where everything works out immediately — the version where they disagree, doubt themselves, almost quit, and figure it out anyway. The music they make is original, rooted in real genres, and designed to actually sound good. This is a show for children learning what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves — and for the adults watching with them who already know how hard that is. What You'll Deliver A story outline for one episode (approved before scripting begins) A full 11-page animation script based on the approved outline What We're Looking For Experience writing for children's animation or kids content Strong grasp of character-driven storytelling Ability to write dialogue that works for both kids and parents Familiarity with music-driven narratives is a plus Project Details Format: Children's animated series Episode length: 11 minutes (~11 pages) This is a test project with potential for an ongoing role Please include relevant writing samples with your proposal. Note: Music will be handled in-house. Within the script, writers should describe the musical moments in detail — including the mood and energy of the scene, the genre or style of the song (e.g. pop, hip-hop, R&B, funk), which character the music belongs to or is driven by, the emotional intent behind the moment (e.g. triumphant, uncertain, playful, heartbroken), and whether the music is performed, practiced, or discovered in that scene. No lyrics or composition required — just a clear creative direction for each musical moment.”
