Children’s Story Writer / Scriptwriter Needed to Create Podcast Episodes for Kids

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist with experience working with school-aged children with diverse learning needs. I am creating a new children’s podcast designed to support neurodiverse learners through engaging, interactive, and meaningful audio experiences. I am looking for a talented children’s writer and storyteller to help develop the voice, storytelling style, and first pilot episodes of this podcast. The podcast is designed for children ages 6–8 and will feature short episodes (under 5 minutes) that feel like an adventure — entertaining, interactive, and meaningful — rather than a traditional lesson. The ideal candidate understands how to create stories that capture children’s attention, spark curiosity, and make them excited to come back for another episode. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with me to create inclusive stories that naturally support language, communication, and social-emotional growth - Help develop the podcast voice, storytelling style, and repeatable episode structure - Write engaging scripts designed specifically for audio - Create strong openings/hooks that capture a child’s attention within the first moments - Develop memorable characters, dialogue, and recurring story elements Ideal Candidate: - Experience writing for children - Strong storytelling and scriptwriting skills - Understands child development and what keeps kids engaged - Can write with humor, imagination, and personality - Understands pacing and storytelling for audio content - Has the ability to make learning feel fun and natural Deliverables include: - Developing the podcast storytelling style and structure - Creating recurring character/host voice guidelines - Writing 3 pilot episodes (under 5 minutes each) The first few episodes will establish the voice, format, and quality standard for the podcast, so I am looking for someone who enjoys building a strong creative foundation. Budget: The initial project includes 3 pilot episodes at approximately $500 per completed episode ($1,500 total). I am open to discussing package pricing based on experience and scope. There is potential for ongoing collaboration creating additional episodes.
