China Textile Mill Sourcing Specialist– Premium Medical Scrub Fabric Development

About Us We are a U.S.-based apparel company developing a premium medical scrub brand focused on sustainability, comfort, and performance. Our mission is to create one of the highest-quality scrub fabrics on the market through long-term partnerships with leading textile mills in China. We are looking for an experienced sourcing specialist based in China with an established network of reputable fabric mills. The objective of this engagement is to identify, evaluate, and introduce us to the most qualified textile mills for our project so that we can build direct, long-term relationships with those mills. Project Overview We are seeking an experienced textile professional who can introduce us to textile mills with strong capabilities in developing functional woven apparel fabrics for premium medical scrubs and performance apparel. This is not a garment factory sourcing project. We are specifically looking for fabric mills with strong expertise in premium performance woven fabrics suitable for medical scrubs and technical apparel. Our ideal mill has experience supplying U.S. apparel brands, strong product development capabilities, and a proven track record of producing innovative, high-quality fabrics. What We Are Looking For We are interested in mills with expertise in: -Functional woven apparel fabrics -Medical scrub fabrics -Performance workwear fabrics -Performance apparel fabrics -Stretch twills -Stretch dobby fabrics -Mechanical stretch woven fabrics -Soft-touch performance fabrics -Moisture management finishes -Wrinkle-resistant finishes -Easy-care finishes Experience with fabrics incorporating recycled polyester, rayon, lyocell, bamboo, and elastane blends is highly desirable. Sustainability Sustainability is central to our brand. Preference will be given to mills with strong environmental programs and certifications such as: -Global Recycled Standard (GRS) -OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 -Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) -ZDHC -ISO 14001 -Responsibilities The selected consultant will: -Identify highly qualified textile mills that fit our criteria. -Evaluate mills based on technical capabilities, innovation, quality, sustainability, reliability, and -experience serving international apparel brands. -Recommend the strongest mills for our project and explain why. -Introduce us directly to key contacts at those mills. -Assist with initial communication and coordination, if needed. Our objective is to establish direct working relationships with the selected mills. Ideal Qualifications We are looking for someone who: -Has 5+ years of experience in the Chinese textile industry. -Has an established network of reputable textile mills. -Understands woven fabric construction, fiber blends, finishing processes, and performance characteristics. -Has experience supporting fabric development for apparel brands. -Can evaluate mills based on technical capability—not simply price. -Communicates fluently in English and Mandarin. -Is responsive, professional, and well organized. Bonus Experience Experience working with mills that supply premium apparel brands such as FIGS, Mandala, Jaanuu, Cherokee, Med Couture, or other premium performance medical apparel brands is a significant advantage. Deliverables This project will be completed in two milestones. Milestone 1 – Mill Identification -Recommend 5–8 qualified medical scrub fabric textile mills. -Rank the mills based on overall fit. -Provide a brief summary of each mill's strengths, specialties, sustainability capabilities, and relevant experience. Milestone 2 – Introductions & Final Recommendations -Introduce us directly to the most appropriate mills. -Provide contact information for key decision-makers. -Assist with initial communication and meeting coordination. -Recommend the top mills based on technical capabilities, responsiveness, and overall fit. -Deliver any remaining project documentation and notes. Outstanding performance may lead to additional hourly consulting opportunities during future fabric development projects, but this project is focused on identifying and introducing the best textile partners for our business.
