PLEASE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY Project Overview We are seeking a highly creative, experienced video editor to produce a powerful promotional trailer for Afrobeats at Sea, a four-night, adults-only Afrobeats music and cultural experience taking place aboard a cruise ship in September 2027. This is not intended to look like a generic cruise advertisement or an obviously AI-generated video. We want a cinematic, high-energy trailer that feels like footage from a real Afrobeats festival, concert, nightlife event, and luxury group vacation. The finished video should immediately capture attention, create emotion and make viewers think: “I have to be there.” We currently have a promotional video, but it does not fully communicate the excitement, culture, exclusivity, energy, and FOMO surrounding the experience. We are looking for an editor who can take creative ownership of the new trailer and significantly elevate the concept. The Creative Direction The trailer should feel like: • An Afrobeats festival taking over a cruise ship • A major music-event announcement • A cinematic concert or festival trailer • A vibrant celebration of African and diaspora culture • An exciting Caribbean vacation with nonstop music, parties, fashion, dancing, and entertainment • A premium event for stylish adults who love Afrobeats, travel, nightlife, and cultural experiences We want to use authentic-looking, professionally licensed footage of real people, concerts, festival crowds, DJs, dancers, cruise ships, Caribbean destinations, nightlife, pool parties, fashion, food, friendship, and celebration. We do not want fake AI-generated crowds, performers, cruise ships, or people. The audience should see themselves in the video. The footage should prominently represent Black travelers, Africans, African Americans, Caribbean people, and the wider diaspora. Suggested Emotional Flow The video should take viewers through the following progression: 1. Immediate attention-grabbing hook 2. Excitement and curiosity 3. Music, culture, travel, and nightlife 4. Emotional connection and cultural pride 5. Strong fear of missing out 6. Clear invitation to join the priority list The first one to two seconds are extremely important. We need a strong opening that stops people from scrolling. A possible opening message is: “THIS IS NOT A REGULAR CRUISE.” Followed by a reveal such as: “AFROBEATS IS TAKING OVER THE SEA.” We are open to stronger creative recommendations from the selected editor. Potential Voiceover Direction The final script will be approved before production, but the voiceover may communicate something similar to: “Afrobeats is taking over the sea. Four unforgettable nights of music, culture, parties, Caribbean energy, and nonstop vibes. One ship. One culture. One wavey experience. Afrobeats at Sea—September 2027.” The voiceover should sound natural, exciting, polished, culturally appropriate, and human. It should not sound robotic or obviously AI-generated. Footage Requirements Because Afrobeats at Sea has not yet sailed, the editor will need to help source professionally licensed footage that can authentically represent the experience. Footage may include: • Afrobeats or African music festival crowds • Live performers and DJs • People dancing and singing • African and diaspora flags • Stylish Black travelers • Friends celebrating together • Cruise-ship exteriors and interiors • Nighttime cruise-deck parties • Pool and daytime party scenes • Caribbean beaches and water • Luxury dining and cocktails • Fashion and cultural experiences • Close-up emotional reactions • High-energy crowd moments Footage must not be downloaded or copied without permission from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, artist pages, television broadcasts, concerts, or other copyrighted sources. If footage resembles a recognizable artist or branded festival, the editor must confirm that the footage is properly licensed for commercial use.
