Civil Engineer / Technical Writer – Structural Soil Research Report

Overview Envirobond Products Corporation is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer, Landscape Architect, or related technical professional to develop a comprehensive third-party technical report on Structural Soil. We have already completed substantial research and have existing notes and draft materials (see attached). We are looking for a qualified professional to independently review the available information, conduct additional research, and produce a polished, technically sound report that can be distributed to our dealer network. This project is intended to be the first of several technical documentation projects that we expect to undertake over time. Future projects may include topics such as: -ADA accessibility and compliance requirements -Water infiltration and stormwater management principles -Other landscape and civil engineering technical guidance documents We are ideally seeking someone interested in establishing an ongoing relationship and serving as our independent technical author on future projects. Project Background Envirobond manufactures and supplies plant-based hydrogel products used within the landscape construction industry. One of our products is a psyllium husk powder hydrogel that we refer to as "StructuralBinder." We are interested in creating a comprehensive report that explains: -What structural soil is -Why structural soil is used -The engineering principles behind structural soil systems -Typical applications and use cases -Materials commonly used in structural soil -Recommended mix designs and construction considerations -Installation methodologies and best practices -Limitations and considerations -The role and benefits of using a psyllium husk powder hydrogel component within structural soil systems This report should be written from the perspective of an independent third-party technical professional and should be educational, practical, and professionally presented. Our intent is to provide it to companies that are interested in starting to make and sell structural soil, and that are considering using our hydrogel in that. Scope of Work The successful candidate will: Review our existing notes, research materials, and draft report Conduct independent research using published literature, academic papers, specifications, and industry resources Verify technical accuracy of all information Expand and refine the report into a comprehensive and professionally written document Provide recommendations regarding structure, content, graphics, diagrams, tables, and references Explain the function of hydrogels within structural soil systems Evaluate and discuss the potential benefits and considerations of using psyllium husk powder as the hydrogel component Produce a final report suitable for distribution to landscape contractors, landscape architects, engineers, and dealers Deliverables We anticipate the final deliverables will include: Professionally written technical report (approximately 10–20+ pages) Executive summary Detailed sections covering all aspects of structural soil Tables, charts, and diagrams where appropriate References and citations to supporting literature Recommendations and best practices Final editable source file and PDF version Ideal Qualifications -Civil Engineering degree, Geotechnical Engineering degree, -Professional Engineer (P.Eng., P.E., C.Eng., etc.) preferred Ideal experience with: Water movement Structural soils Urban tree systems Soil science Geotechnical engineering Landscape construction specifications Stormwater and infiltration principles Technical report writing Strong English writing and communication skills Ability to synthesize complex technical information into practical guidance documents To Apply Please provide: Brief background and qualifications Examples of technical reports or specifications you have authored Experience with structural soils, engineered soils, or urban tree systems (if possible) Estimated number of hours and timeline for completion Confirmation of your interest in potential ongoing technical writing projects We are looking for someone who can become a long-term technical resource and help us develop a library of independent, third-party educational reports for the landscape and civil engineering industries.
