Civil-Rights Litigator (Federal § 1981 / § 2000a) — Create & Send Pre-Suit Demand; Tenth Circuit

Project type: Fixed-price, one-time engagement, with possible follow-on contingency representation Overview: I'm seeking a civil-rights attorney to review, finalize, sign, and send a pre-litigation demand letter in a federal race-discrimination matter. The claims arise under 42 U.S.C. § 1981 (equal right to make and enforce contracts) and 42 U.S.C. § 2000a (Title II — public accommodations), stemming from my treatment as a guest at a hotel in Laramie, Wyoming. Because the core claims are federal, this is not limited to Wyoming-licensed counsel. I am specifically open to attorneys admitted in the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming, or attorneys elsewhere in the Tenth Circuit (e.g., Colorado, Utah) who are willing to appear pro hac vice with Wyoming local counsel. Tenth Circuit § 1981 experience is what matters most. A detailed draft demand letter and an organized evidence package already exist. This is primarily a review-and-adopt engagement, not drafting from scratch — though I want your independent legal judgment on claims, framing, the settlement figure, and strategy. Scope of work: Review the existing draft demand and supporting evidence Revise as you see fit, applying your judgment on the § 1981 / § 2000a framing and the demand amount Finalize and send on your firm letterhead, under your signature Provide brief written guidance on likely responses and next steps (including any pro hac vice / local-counsel arrangement for the District of Wyoming) Required qualifications: Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; admitted to a U.S. District Court within the Tenth Circuit (please state which, and your bar number) Demonstrated experience with federal § 1981 race-discrimination litigation (please describe; public-accommodation experience strongly preferred over employment-only) Either (a) admission to the District of Wyoming, or (b) willingness to appear pro hac vice with Wyoming local counsel Able to begin promptly and turn this around quickly (please state your realistic timeframe) Preferred: Plaintiff-side civil-rights practice (not defense-side) Public-accommodation / Title II experience specifically Willingness to discuss continued representation on a contingency basis if the matter proceeds To apply, please include: Your jurisdiction(s) and federal court admissions (and bar number) A short summary of your § 1981 / civil-rights litigation experience Your plan for the Wyoming venue (already admitted, or pro hac vice + local counsel) Your proposed turnaround time Your fee for this engagement, and whether you'd consider contingency for follow-on work Note: I will share the full draft and evidence only after an engagement is established with appropriate confidentiality. Please confirm you're comfortable taking professional responsibility for a letter sent under your signature.
