Cold caller for a Houston commercial cleaning company, warm list, 10 hour pilot

Summary

We run a commercial cleaning company in Houston. Over the last two months we emailed about 5,300 local businesses, and roughly 200 of them opened the email repeatedly, some on eight or nine separate days. Nobody has called them. That is the job. You get a sheet of 40 numbers to start. Every business on it has read our emails more than once, so the company name will ring a bell when you reach the right person. Being straight with you about what the sheet is: on about half the numbers we can tell you who to ask for by name, because the emails went to a personal inbox and the sheet says so. The other half are front desk numbers where part of the job is getting to whoever decides on cleaning vendors, usually an office manager or the owner. The sheet flags which kind each number is before you dial. Warmer than a raw list, but you will still work through gatekeepers, and we would rather tell you that now than have you find out on call three. You are not selling anything on the phone either way. The whole ask is twenty minutes of their time for a walkthrough of their space. This is a 10 hour paid pilot. If it works we keep going, because the list refreshes by about 50 new warm contacts a week and this becomes a standing 5 to 10 hour per week gig. What you would do: Call the numbers on the sheet, up to three attempts each across different days and times. Get past the front desk to whoever actually decides on cleaning vendors, usually an office manager, a facilities lead or an owner. Book the ones who are interested into open walkthrough slots on our calendar. Log the outcome of every call in the shared sheet, including the ones that go nowhere, because a clean no is worth as much to us as a yes. What we need from you: You are based in the United States and you speak clearly. Our buyers are Houston office managers and they hang up on calls that are hard to follow, so this matters more than experience does. You have made outbound calls before, in any industry. B2B is a plus, cleaning or facilities is a bigger plus, neither is required. You are comfortable being told no thirty times in a row and dialing again. You can work during Houston business hours, roughly 9am to 4pm Central, in blocks you schedule with us. Pay: $12 per hour, plus $30 for every walkthrough that actually happens. Not per appointment booked, per appointment that shows up. We pay for real meetings, not calendar entries, and we say that up front so you know we are not going to argue about it later. The 10 hour pilot is $120 guaranteed plus bonuses. A realistic first batch produces one or two walkthroughs, so budget around $180 for the pilot. Tools we provide: A phone line through our system so calls come from our Houston number and get picked up more often. The dial sheet with names, numbers, company, industry and how many days they opened our email. A written opener for each business type. Access to the calendar to book directly. To apply, answer these three questions in your proposal: 1. Record a 30 second voice sample where you read this out loud: "Hi, this is [your name] calling from Mansion Maintenance here in Houston. We sent over some information about commercial cleaning a couple weeks back and I wanted to see if you had twenty minutes for a quick walkthrough." Any phone recording is fine, we are listening to how you sound, not to production quality. 2. A gatekeeper tells you the office manager is not available and asks you to email instead. What do you actually say next? 3. What hours can you commit to in Houston time, and starting when? Proposals without the voice sample will not be read. It is the whole point of the screen.
