Community Engagement Specialist for Developer / No-Code SaaS
Worldwide
Description We’re seeking a freelance community engagement specialist to identify and engage with relevant conversations in developer, no-code, AI, automation, and indie-hacker communities. This role is not generic social media posting. We’re looking for someone who can find high-intent discussions, understand the context, and write thoughtful, helpful replies where our product is genuinely relevant. The goal is to build awareness and drive qualified traffic through authentic participation in communities such as Reddit, X/Twitter, Discord, Hacker News, Indie Hackers, and relevant niche forums. You’ll be responsible for finding active conversations, engaging naturally, tracking your activity, and helping us learn which communities, topics, and messaging angles perform best. Responsibilities Find relevant discussions in developer, no-code, AI, automation, and indie-hacker communities Write thoughtful, context-specific replies that are helpful rather than promotional Mention the product only when it is genuinely relevant to the conversation Track all posts/replies in a simple spreadsheet with URL, platform, topic, reply, and outcome Identify recurring questions, objections, and opportunities from community conversations Provide a short weekly summary of what worked, what did not, and what to test next Ideal candidate Strong written English Experience with Reddit, X/Twitter, Discord, Hacker News, Indie Hackers, or similar communities Good judgment about when to engage and when not to Able to write naturally without sounding like a marketer or spammer Comfortable learning a technical or SaaS product Bonus: experience with developer tools, no-code tools, APIs, automation, Google Sheets, or B2B SaaS Daily goal During the first week, we expect around 6–10 high-quality replies per day while you learn the product and communities. After ramp-up, the goal is 8–15 thoughtful, relevant replies per day. Quality matters more than volume. We do not want spam, generic comments, AI-generated-looking replies, or repetitive promotional posts. Project scope This is a part-time freelance role, starting with a paid trial. If the trial works well, this can become an ongoing engagement. Estimated hours 10–15 hours per week to start.
