Project Brief: Real-Time Shuttle Passenger App (Samsara & Kipsu Integration) 1. Project Overview We operate a commercial shuttle service in Metro Vancouver and Whistler. We operate roughly a dozen contracted shuttles for business parks, universities and companies that run on fixed times and set schedules. We are looking for a lightweight, mobile-responsive App. The goal is to provide riders with effortless access to their specific route schedules, live GPS shuttle tracking, and direct customer service communication. The application will rely heavily on syncing real-time data from our existing operational tech stack: Samsara (telematics/GPS) and Kipsu (guest messaging). 2. Core User Workflow & Features Passenger Access: customers can log into our App. Route Selection: A simple, mobile-optimized landing page where passengers log in or select their corresponding shuttle route from a dropdown menu. Live GPS Tracking Map: Once a route is selected, an interactive map displays the real-time location of the active shuttle on that route. Easily integrated through Samsara. Schedule Display: A clean layout showing upcoming arrival and departure times for the selected route. We could upload PDF schedules. Live Communication: An integrated "Chat with Support" button that seamlessly routes passenger text inquiries into our existing Kipsu communication dashboard. 3. Technical Integration Requirements Samsara API Integration: Utilize Samsara’s Open API/Webhooks to fetch real-time GPS coordinates (v1/fleet/locations or updated endpoint equivalents) and route progress. Kipsu Integration: Connect with Kipsu’s messaging API to bridge the web app's chat portal into our team’s backend communication workflow. 5. Vendor Requirements We are looking to partner with a Vancouver-based agency or developer who has verified experience with third-party REST APIs, webhook handling, and real-time mapping.
