Construction Estimating Assistant

We are looking for a reliable construction estimator to help our remodeling company with estimating work on an ongoing basis. Our company specializes in home renovations, home remodeling, basement finishing, additions, and custom home projects. We currently use an Excel estimating sheet, and we need someone who can take over the estimating process after learning our structure and the way we price projects. The ideal person should be comfortable working with construction drawings, scopes of work, measurements, material quantities, labor pricing, and organized Excel spreadsheets. Responsibilities: Take project information, plans, drawings, and scopes of work and turn them into organized construction estimates. Use our existing Excel estimating sheet and follow our estimating structure. Break down project costs by trade, labor, materials, and overall scope. Help prepare estimates that can be sent to clients. Review plans and identify missing information, unclear scope items, or questions that need to be clarified. Join Zoom calls for training and project review so you can learn how we estimate and price our remodeling projects. Communicate clearly and consistently throughout the estimating process. Requirements: Experience with construction estimating, preferably in residential remodeling or home renovation. Strong Excel skills. Ability to read construction plans, drawings, and scopes of work. Understanding of residential construction trades such as framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, tile, paint, cabinetry, trim, and finish work. Detail-oriented and organized. Willing to join Zoom calls for training and walkthroughs of our estimating process. Able to follow our system instead of creating your own process from scratch. Good communication skills and ability to ask questions when something is unclear. Preferred Experience: Residential remodeling estimating. Basement finishing estimates. Kitchen and bathroom remodeling estimates. Home additions or custom home estimating. Experience working with U.S.-based construction companies. What We Will Provide: Our Excel estimating template. Project drawings, plans, photos, and scope details when available. Training over Zoom on how we structure our estimates. Examples of past estimates. Ongoing estimating work if the first projects go well. Goal of the Role: We want someone who can eventually take over most of the estimating work for our company so we can prepare professional, accurate estimates for clients faster and more consistently.
