Contract Attorney Needed — Bankruptcy Review & IP/Trademark Name Clearance

Overview We are seeking a licensed attorney with experience in both bankruptcy law and intellectual property / trademark matters for a focused, confidential legal review. This is a discrete, limited-scope engagement suited for a solo practitioner or boutique firm comfortable working with entrepreneurial clients. All work product and communications are strictly confidential. Scope of Work This engagement covers two related areas: 1. Bankruptcy Record Review Review of a prior business bankruptcy filing (Chapter 7) Assess current legal standing and any residual obligations or restrictions Advise on what assets, names, or intellectual property may or may not have been included in or affected by the discharge Provide a clear written summary of findings and practical implications for current business activity 2. Brand Name Availability & Usage Rights Research whether a specific business/brand name is legally available for use and registration following a prior bankruptcy Identify any conflicts, encumbrances, or risks associated with reactivating or rebranding under a name previously associated with a dissolved or discharged entity Advise on the safest path forward for trademark registration and brand usage Ideal Candidate Licensed attorney in good standing (U.S.) Experience with Chapter 7 business bankruptcy proceedings Familiarity with USPTO trademark process and brand clearance searches Discreet, responsive, and comfortable advising founders and entrepreneurs Able to deliver a concise written memo summarizing findings and recommendations Deliverable A written legal memo covering both areas above, with clear, actionable guidance on next steps.
