Contract Designer – Bullion & Coin Design for a Mint Client

The Opportunity We're looking for a highly skilled designer to join a contract engagement for a mint client this summer. You’ll be working with, and reporting to, a Creative Director. If you have a background in coin or medallion design and understand what it takes to get from idea to production, this is a rare opportunity to do good work in a specialized field. What You'll Be Doing * Designing bullion, coin, and assay card artwork using Adobe Illustrator and DepthMap tools (Some designs are purely vector, others as pixel depth maps, and some that combine the two.) * AI image generation as a deliberate creative tool, applied with craft and judgment, not as a crutch * Working closely with the Creative Director to develop designs that balance aesthetic ambition with technical precision * Delivering files that are mint-ready - clean, structured, and built for the physical world What We Need * Expert Adobe Illustrator skills, with a portfolio rooted in precision vector work * Experience with depth map creation for coin engraving, or willingness to learn * A fluent, thoughtful approach to AI image generation tools. You know when and how to use them responsibly within a professional creative workflow * The discipline to work within tight technical and dimensional constraints * Packaging design experience, most of the bullion will be in an assay card that needs its own design complementary to the theme The Details * Contract position with months of ongoing work * Reporting to a Creative Director * 100% Remote To Apply Share your portfolio with relevant coin, engraving, or precision vector work.
