As we continue expanding our presence in Washington, we are seeking an experienced Contract/Interim Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to support our Washington litigation practice during a period of growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced plaintiff's attorney looking for a flexible, high-level litigation role with a fully remote firm. The ideal candidate is comfortable independently managing complex litigation matters while collaborating with our leadership and support staff. Position Summary The Contract/Interim Personal Injury Litigation Attorney will manage an active plaintiff personal injury caseload from pre-suit through trial or settlement, depending on the needs of the firm. This role is intended for an experienced litigator who can quickly integrate into an existing practice, provide immediate litigation support, and ensure excellent client representation. This is a contract position with the potential for extension or future opportunities based on business needs and performance. Key Responsibilities - Manage plaintiff personal injury cases from pre-suit through litigation and resolution. - Handle Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA), Commercial Vehicle Accident (CVA), catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and other complex injury matters. - Conduct depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, settlement negotiations, and, when necessary, jury trials. - Develop litigation strategies designed to maximize client recovery. - Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, demand packages, and other litigation documents. - Collaborate with case managers, paralegals, and litigation support staff to ensure efficient case progression. - Evaluate liability, damages, insurance coverage, and case value. - Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy. - Work closely with firm leadership to provide seamless litigation support during the engagement. Minimum Qualifications - Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. - Active Washington State Bar license in good standing. - Minimum of 7–10 years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience. - Extensive experience handling Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) and Commercial Vehicle Accident (CVA) claims. - Significant deposition, mediation, arbitration, and courtroom experience. - Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload with minimal supervision. - Strong legal writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills. - Excellent communication and client service skills. - Ability to work remotely while maintaining exceptional responsiveness and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications - First-chair jury trial experience. - Experience handling catastrophic injury and wrongful death litigation. - Familiarity with Washington courts, judges, and litigation procedures. - Established relationships with Washington medical providers, expert witnesses, and litigation professionals. - Experience transitioning or assisting with active litigation caseloads. - Compensation & Engagement - Contract/1099 position. - Flexible engagement structure (full-time or part-time considered). - Fully remote work environment. - Flexible scheduling. - Experienced administrative, case management, and litigation support. - Opportunity to work with a growing and collaborative plaintiff's personal injury firm. - Potential for contract extension or transition into a long-term role based on mutual interest and firm needs.
