Cookbook Formatting and Cover Design

Seeking a skilled freelancer to format a 178-page cookbook for Kindle KDP and design a cover. Responsibilities include ensuring the book meets KDP's formatting guidelines and creating an eye-catching cover. The ideal candidate will have experience in print design and layout, with a strong understanding of graphic design principles. This is a part-time project with a short-term engagement. I have previously self-published the book and am looking to have it now formatted for Kindle KDP. Currently, the completed book is 7" x 8.5" and includes text and simple line-art imagery. I need someone who can handle the layout to ensure it looks professional and functions well on Kindle devices, as well as design a compelling, genre-appropriate cover. Scope of Work: • Interior Formatting: Convert my current document into a KDP-ready file (EPUB or KPF) that maintains the integrity of recipes, images, and layout across different Kindle devices. • Cover Design: Design a professional, eye-catching cover for the Kindle ebook (and potentially a paperback wrap, if possible—please specify if you can do both). • Final Review: Ensure the final files meet all Amazon KDP technical specifications (file size, resolution, navigation, etc.) for a seamless upload process. Requirements: • Proven experience in cookbook or image-heavy book formatting for KDP. • Strong portfolio showing previous book design and formatting work. • Knowledge of KDP technical requirements (e.g., image resolution, reflowable vs. fixed layout for cookbooks).
